I am thinking about learning to surf. Since, I have been living in SFLA for over 20 years and have never tried it. I going to wait until the "winter" from what I read the waves are better then. What do you think? Thank you for all of your input.

You should not wait for winter for better waves. Unless your beaches are so flat that it's a lake until winter, which I doubt. Go take a class or find a person who knows how and is good with beginners. Most importantly, have fun!
