SteveSmith 06-16-2003, 06:34 PM Hi. I've had my silver E since Feb. 28th. I live in Chatham County about 10 miles south of Chapel Hill. I've seen maybe 5 other E's in the area on a regular basis. Another silver one, a red one, and a couple of blue ones.

pedsflightrn 06-16-2003, 10:03 PM I'm in Durham and work in Chapel Hill at UNC Hospital. I think the ranks of E owners are growing in this area. I think it must be about time to have a get together, take some pictures, and show all the EOC members our 'Carolina E's!! :D
momome 06-18-2003, 09:34 PM Charlotte, NC here. Satin Silver, XM radio, and 14,000 miles since March 14th.
zarathustra 06-20-2003, 05:48 PM Maybe we should organize alittle weekend jaunt.

momome 06-20-2003, 10:01 PM what did you have in mind???
zarathustra 06-20-2003, 10:13 PM Im thinking, campground, somewhere near a lake, in the mountains.

zarathustra 07-10-2003, 10:35 PM I'm here in Gastonia, Nc. I'm a transplant and I have seen several E's here and the drivers don't even take the time to give a honk, wave or light flash......thats sux, I remember when I had my CJ-7 we all waved. :(
switters 07-17-2003, 12:22 PM my wife and i just got our galapagos 2wd ex last night.

switters 07-17-2003, 12:25 PM let us know on the camping. if we can make it work timewise, we'll be there!
no better place than the mountains.
stone mountain has a nice car camping site.
Nat_RH 07-19-2003, 09:23 AM Are we any closer to scheduling a little get-together.
I'm in Raleigh with my brand-new E!
Drove it off the lot yesterday, but still waiting on my accessories to be installed.
Lets get these North Carolina People together...

zarathustra 07-20-2003, 09:19 PM Ok, well, Im in for a weekend camput. I am new to the state and would need some help setting something up. Can someone propose a camp site?
Nat_RH 07-21-2003, 05:19 AM We can head to Julian Price park which is on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
This is a very nice area with lots of fishing, hiking, and other outdoor stuff.
Price park is pretty nice ... or we can meet in Boone and stay at one of the
little motel / hotels in the area.
It seems like most people are looking for a trip to the mountains, anyone else
have a better idea?
Here is a link to some park sites in the mountains.
http://www.mountaintimes.com/summer/parks.php3
Lets get everybody's opinion so we can start planning this.
--4-day E owner
switters 07-21-2003, 07:02 AM got two ideas.
1) stone mountain has a relatively nice campground for vehicles. somewhat centrally located, it's about an hour (give or take 15 mins) northwest of Winston-Salem.
2) if the mountains don't appeal and folks are up for a bigger drive, there are areas of the outer banks which are national park (i believe) and offer many camping alternatives.
personally, this time of year (or really any time of year) i would opt for the mountains, but the obx would be cool as well.
as per Nat_RH's recommendation, Julian Price park would be very good.
zarathustra 07-21-2003, 07:06 AM Im cool with the mountains!
switters 07-21-2003, 08:18 AM nat_rh,
where in raleigh are you and what color is your e?
i live in durham but work in raleigh on six forks road, not far from the 540.
i'm galapagos green.
T Mac 07-21-2003, 12:14 PM If you guys end up meeting, please take some pics to share with us!
Have fun!
Nat_RH 07-21-2003, 03:00 PM Switters:
Stone Mountain sounds interesting...I've never been there before so that makes it better.
I'm game for just about anything, I know from the looks of other posts here most people
live in the Central to Western part of the state. So a mountain trip may be the easiest.
Who wants to be brave and commit to a date???
Switters, I live near Falls of Neuse and I540, but I work downtown. My E is a SSM, satin silver metallic. Still looking for the most appropriate license plate to put on it.
C
zarathustra 07-22-2003, 06:40 AM Ill kick it off by saying mid August.
Perhaps someone should contact the stone place and ask about a group rate or a few sites located next to each other.
How far is Stone Mountain from Charlotte?
switters 07-23-2003, 08:33 AM i'll be even braver,
valerie (the super wife) and i can probably make something happen the weekend of august 22-24. we'll be childless that weekend and i will have just finished the month from hell at work (travel, meetings blah blah blah).
this is just a guess at this point zarathrustra, but i'd say stone mountain is somewhere around 2 hours from charlotte. you'd head up i-77 past wilkesboro toward sparta, nc then get on hwy 21.
we're not set on stone mountain, though. just thinking in terms of central location for all nc folks. we'd be quite happy to go anywhere. we have quite an affinity for anywhere in the moutains, particularly the asheville area (however i know nothing about camp sites there. my wife's best friend owns a coffee shop in black mountain and we normally stay with her).
terrykat 07-23-2003, 10:00 AM I just got my Element yesterday. And joined today.I have a Shoreline Mist EX 4wd.Would enjoy some type of get together.Just let me know. :)
terrykat 07-23-2003, 10:09 AM New E owner, 7-22-03. Count me in. :)
switters 07-23-2003, 11:39 AM welcome terrykat! and congrats on the new e!
back in the day (about 5 years and 25 pounds ago) when i was living in greensboro and racing bicycles, i spent much time on the roads around mocksville.
any thoughts on a location for a get together?
terrykat 07-30-2003, 01:01 PM Stone Mt. sounds good to me. Maybe someplace on the Parkway. What about doing a one day road trip? Just get as many E's as possible and take a ride somewhere.
zarathustra 07-30-2003, 04:33 PM Yeah I'm down with that also. Maybe some people day trip and others camp it out.
Nat_RH 07-30-2003, 08:17 PM Day trip would be nice.
I'm still in favor of Stone Mtn. since I've never traveled there before.
Somebody mentioned August, well in a couple hours August will be here.
Lets pick a weekend and get it setup.
I'll help anyway I can.
C
terrykat 08-03-2003, 05:42 PM I am free any weekend from Aug. 15 - Sept. 7. Does anyone know anything about Virginia International Raceway? There is a off-road course there. I do not know how difficult it is. The Hummer Dealership took the H1 & H2 owners up about three weeks ago. I will see if I can get any info.We went a couple of months ago and it really a nice place. It is about 1.5 to 2 hours from Winston-Salem.Just another suggestion for someplace to go for a get together. 8)
shappys 08-07-2003, 06:49 PM Wilmington NC here - Nighthawk Black Pearl EX AWD AT
Doin some coastal cruisin!
zarathustra 08-08-2003, 03:55 PM Ah, the good ol days at the beach. Sadly Im stuck in Gastonia, home of barb-q and people that say "Do what?" as a response to almost any question.
We need to get this thing on the road! When? Where? Is there camping by the beach? I can see it now, all the E's lined up at the Mercer pier.
switters 08-10-2003, 11:48 AM i'm with zarathustra (that sounds even weirder when i read it back to myself)
the schedule of the super-wife and myself is quickly filling up. honest to god, i'm now making plans for christmas.
kona853 08-12-2003, 05:18 AM Checking in from Asheville. Besides my silver EX, I've seen two other Es in town, a black EX, and an orange EX. Those of you in Orange County will be seeing my E alot since I drive down there twice weekly for my cancer treatments at UNC Hospital.
switters 08-12-2003, 06:45 AM from asheville? wow. my favorite place in north carolina. my wife and i got married on a mountain top up in madison county.
on your drives down to orange county, stop off in black mountain and have a cup of joe (or tea) at the dripolator. the owner is my wife's dearest friend.
Cynthia 08-26-2003, 07:18 PM HI. I have a blackE 4wd EX. It's my baby. I'm in Fort Bragg NC.
Cynthia
McPues 08-27-2003, 07:47 PM Hi everyone.
I just picked up my 4WD EX Nighthawk Black Pearl Element this past Monday. To the best of my knowledge, I have the first Black one in Goldsboro/SJAFB area. Are there any other owners in the area who'd like to hook up? I am all about a group outing, but seeing as how I am centrally located and indepted to the military something in the Raleigh-Durham area or possibly New Bern would be ideal. Not completely ruling out something further, but these would be best for spur of the moment trips.
Keep me posted, I am all about my Element
zarathustra 09-22-2003, 06:09 AM Okay, lets try to get a meet.
Atleast a day trip somewhere.
Although I really want to make a camping trip out of it.
Also, any E owners here from Charlotte or surrounding area?
bikerdudenc 09-30-2003, 06:54 AM Howdy Batman!
I live in Raliegh, NC and I'm starting to see more and more E's in this area! I'm having a great time driving mine, I have put over 1000 miles in 2 weeks!
Cheers!
Mark
Grasshopper 10-19-2003, 03:42 PM Just bought my Galapagos Green EX (a.k.a. Grasshopper) this weekend. I'm lovin' it! Have seen a few E's in the Huntersville and Mooresville areas. Look forward to seeing many more!
cinnamon 10-26-2003, 09:14 PM Hi my name is Cinnamon and I am........ an E owner. Located in Charlotte, NC. Got my Sunburst Orange 4 WD EX E in July. I checked this site before buying so I know to wave when I see another E, but only one wave back so far(a lady driving a Sunburst Orange E). I see quite a few Elements here in Charlotte. They probably don't know about this site. Keep waving,
boboma25 11-08-2003, 09:32 AM :P
I have seen 2 others in Lewisville, NC.. I have a black one, I have seen one green and one orange! THey are all over Winston Salem and High Point though! I love mine! I do have the rocking seat :( I am going to call the dealer!
See ya!

my03element 03-31-2004, 08:30 PM gonna be moving to wilmington there will be another e added to the south
THE FIFTH 06-03-2004, 07:33 AM Wilmington nc here
My new E is 4 days old and I have seen several in town and some with outof state plates with no sign of life from the owners. I will always wave to them like it or not. one guy I waved to looked at me like I was crazy. I used to have a miata and belonged to cape fear miata club we would have monthly meet and greets and a drive to a place for lunch or tour a winery etc... It was a lot of fun... :D
pedsflightrn 06-03-2004, 01:15 PM Welcome fifth! I'm in the Raleigh/Durham area. It seems there are quite a few NC E's, but nobody has really gotten organized. Wish there was more interest in a get together.
GypsyWagon 06-03-2004, 10:32 PM Hi Guys! My husband and I are in Raleigh, our E is 10 days old today! Loving it!!! I've several E's about. A SOP twin to ours shares my parking lot at work on Glenwood, and the owner and I have chatted briefly (told her about this website) all the other E's I either haven't been able to get close enough to wave or they thought I had mistaken them for someone else :?
THE FIFTH 06-07-2004, 08:31 AM Make sure you printout some of the Element owners club invitations here:
http://www.elementownersclub.com/eoc_invite.pdf
All of the E owners I have talked to on the street had no idea there was a website and club but where very interested so we must get the word out by putting these under windshield wipers. Once the word is out this forum will boom and we can have meets like the norcal elements do!!!
:D
shs100 06-10-2004, 07:23 AM WE are soooo happy with it
THE FIFTH 06-10-2004, 08:15 AM Congrats on your new E
I just am so happy with the GGM I know it was the right choice.
be sure and print out some EOC flyers to put on E's in parking lots to spread the word.
I heard flow was a good dealer. Did you get a good deal?
See ya on the roads
shs100 06-25-2004, 07:53 PM We got our 4WD GGM Element EX with fogs, cargo net a few months ago. We bought it from FLOW and got a great deal and service. It is a 2004 and have not had any problems. It was great in the snow and climbs the mountains near Asheville with grace. We LOVE IT
zarathustra 07-07-2004, 07:22 PM What about a NC meet?
Im in Gastonia.

This thread gets little activity due to people not knowing about the site. Lets get the word out with the invites.
jcsop 08-06-2004, 07:20 AM Hello all..... I am new to the board and a new SOP E owner. I live in Clayton and work in Morrisville. If you travel on 40 you might have seen me. This board is incredible with the wealth of information here. Got just over 800 miles on my box. Loving every bit of it. My wife thinks it's crazy that we get so excited about our E's. Hopefully one day she will understand how unique we are hehe. Good to meet everyone online. Has anyone done any mods yet? I'm saving up for some rims and tires at the moment. I am also gonna order a grill either from Cloud-Rider or the other site mentioned in the treads up top, this weekend.
JC
SOP LX 2wd
Prodject Plans:
New grill top and bottom
18" rims
245/50/18 tires maybe 245/55/18
Depending on how the rims and tires look lowering springs
but just the small 1.5" ones
New exhaust system
Tint front windows
Cold air intake
Enjoy every minute of driving it
THE FIFTH 08-06-2004, 12:43 PM Welcome to the Family!!! that's what we need more E's in NC!! :)
Use the EOC invites in my post above yours to spread the word about the site. When you see E's
the only mod I have is the Lund bug Deflector....Yet. :D
HUM-E 08-06-2004, 08:53 PM I suggest we just meet at a cruise night already going on and invade with Elements! Does anyone know of a cruise night that is currently happening? The only one I know of is in Henderson N.C. at Lowes.
poohlvhun 08-06-2004, 10:25 PM Nice too see so many element enthusiasts in NC and around the triangle area!
We should all meet up at Capital blvd on weekend nights
amtoro 09-01-2004, 03:54 PM E's Everyone!
The next meetup for Charlotte, NC is SEPTEMBER 18th (saturday 12:00 EDT); so far, only 4 people are registered and we want maaaaany more to come this month.
I'm hosting this month's meeting but I'm open to ideas about where to go, what to do, etc...
The URL for the meetup is http://hondaelement.meetup.com/
email me to amtoro@mac.com and I'll post your suggestions there.
THE FIFTH 09-20-2004, 07:50 AM I have tried to start something here in Wilmington to no avail. I have not even seen one person onthe forums that came here because of the EOC invites that I put on their windsheild wiper..... We had a meetup scheduled for the 18 th sept too. I was the only one to sign up but couldnt even do it as I had a Triathlon that day. Frustrating but to some people its just their transportation and car clubs are dumb.. I won a cloudrider grill set from the labor day scav hunt thts $115 so this forum rocks.. Maybe we could have a central place for a meetup in future?
amtoro 09-22-2004, 12:20 PM I've been thinking about a camping weekend now that the autumn is coming; Asheville, Boone.... I don't know, or even lake norman would be fine.
I'd like to see a big number of E's camping together.
appleg8 10-01-2004, 07:59 PM I got my orange EX in mid-July.

I'm up for an outing maybe we can hit some trails I've found not many people have taken their elements off road. I have had it for a little over a month and have taken it off road 8-10 times. That 4wd makes all the difference. People are suprised when they see a honda element covered in mud!
Give me about a year. When my wife finishes grad school we'll most likely move to the RTP area. I'm looking forward to it.

elevet 05-04-2006, 07:05 PM hey zarathustra/gastonia, charlotte and harrisburg-i'm a new E owner in belmont. love the boards and need to be doing a little modification this weekend-specifically will be heading to lowe's/home depot for a grill kit!
any other "must" mods recommended? also, am learning alot about keeping the E clean-it drives me nuts that it shows dirt so quickly but love the colors. thinking about all weather mats or carpet install, too
Krynshaw 05-29-2006, 02:16 PM We must have had an Element explosion Sunday. Spotted 14 Elements around the Raleigh area and 6 of them just going down Hillsboro St near NC State. My girlfriend and I were amazed at how many we found.
With all the Elements running around I have still only been able to get one to wave. Many of the others were either not looking or I didn't see them until it was too late to wave.
elevet 05-29-2006, 06:19 PM I've had two wave responses in the charlotte/gastonia area in the past month!
One was my FBP twin! I'm going to keep waving, no matter the response-let's be friendly- I've definitely noticed a lot of E's in the mountains near Ashville and up toward Boone. These are great vehicles...
DirtGhost 05-31-2006, 06:12 AM It is a bunch of us up around the Greensboro/High Point/Winston Salem area but being friendly to eachother with a WAVE ? Come'on you are kidding right ? These people would not wave at you if your or their life depended on it ! But the friendly ones are still here ! Hola from High Point !
bacchus1310 05-31-2006, 06:54 AM Last day in NC, so i thought I would say "C-Ya" to all the NC owners. On my way to AK. :D

dehnernc 06-12-2006, 03:18 PM Just bought an "E" and live in Charlotte. My two girls (Alaskan Malamutes) love it. I have only had it a week so the only mod I have done is put a hitch for the bike rack. However I am searching for the parts to put the Yakima rack on the roof for the winter. I also plan on trashing the Goodyears on the element in exchange for some a/t's.
WCUAlum 06-21-2006, 06:27 PM Hi all,
I just found this site. I've had my E since Feb. (I actually picked it up from the dealer, Hendrick Honda in Charlotte, on Valentine's Day) & I love it. I've wanted to get an Element ever since I first saw it. I've really enjoyed driving it & I've gotten compliments on how well it drives.
elevet 06-21-2006, 07:30 PM Welcome-If you spot a crazy woman and two little boys waving like mad in a FBP-:-D that's me...

jcskolman 08-09-2006, 02:41 PM I just bought a new '05 4wd LX from Leith last weekend...I live inside the beltline. just seeing if any Raleighites are part of this group. I see a lot of them where I live, porbably 4 or 5. I have to say it is awsome I really love it. I can't wait to take my dogs and goto Oakwood dogpark or go camping and sleep under the stars in there. :)
mayberry-e 08-10-2006, 02:20 PM Mount Airy Owner here, but I lived in Raleigh for close to 5 years. Today I am tooling around winston and GSO.
But, you may see me and our silver EXP next weekend. We are traveling to the capital city for my wife's bday. Dinner at The Twisted Fork on Friday night and Spa day for her on Saturday. I will probably hit REI and Vertical Urge looking for deals on snowboard stuff.
Someday we carolinians should unite or cruse somewhere together. I up for helping gather our slice of the EOC.

Bullitt 09-01-2006, 07:12 PM Monroe, NC here. Finally bought my E yesterday after months of shopping. What an ordeal! But waiting till the last day of the last month of the model year helped, I think.
2006 AWD with auto EX-P in Tangerine.
murph 09-07-2006, 11:56 PM Just scored my E over Labor Day... details here:
Perpetual Price Thread Post (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19561&page=28)
I'm really enjoying the Element... reminds me of the thrashed-out '68 Chevy van I rebuilt back in the 80's. LOL Only the E is safer, faster, more comfortable, no rust holes, etc.... Hope to see other EOC E-drivers on the streets of NC.

That's funny... I joined first and then got my E 3-1/2 years later!!! I bought a used 2003 with only 45K miles on her from CarMax in Raleigh. She needs a little TLC on the inside, but the outside looks good for a year one Element. I'll be replacing a few of the interior plastic pieces as they are beyond detailing, but for the most part she's pretty clean. My E will be a work truck primarily, so she won't be winning any car shows. But I may mod it with some larger wheels and tires when the stock shoes get worn out.
I live in Northeast Raleigh but my job has me travelling from Durham to the Coast. The E is a huge upgrade from the Suzuki Sidekick that has served me well for the past 5 years. I took my first 4 hour drive today and am happy to report that the trip was great! I guess I need to get an EOC sticker for the rear glass now...
LmentalMastiffs 12-05-2006, 02:58 PM DC Metro E visiting for Christmas. I'll be in Hickory, what are the chances of getting a small gathering for a late lunch or something say on Dec 23rd?
Just an idea?

You hate yours, and everything about Elements, according to your posts. Yours is even for sale! What's up? You that lonely you can't just go quietly into the night and leave us in peace!?

Well if this is not calling the kettle black here hownowcb. The last time I checked where I live it was in the grand ole USA. This is the land of free speech. If I wanted to talk about how good or bad my flighty decision was at the time of purchase was it is my business and my right as a US TAX paying citizen .
I tell you what hownowcb you find me on person here that would take this E off my hands and I will grant you your wishes and "just go quietly into the night and leave us in peace!?" I will go get a VW golf or rabbit and be happy. Till then you can keep your wishes to yourself. Or grant me my wishes stay out of my business. Thank you so very much hownowcb or should we say brown cow ?

You'll like it here, there's a lot of good folk around.
If you're looking for the big city life, then Charlotte's the way to go.
Some general info about Charlotte is here (http://www.city-data.com/city/Charlotte-North-Carolina.html) and here (http://www.hellocharlotte.com/) and here (http://www.charlottechamber.com/).
If you're more in to rural areas, well, there's plenty of those too. The jobs are more plentiful in and near the bigger cities. Unemployment is not that high, it's been better, but it's not bad. Pretty much if you're willing to work, you can find a job in your profession in fairly short order.

Asheville's wonderful--if you bring your job with you and don't mind chemtrails and high humidity in the summers and increasingly congested traffic.
Why do you want to leave (where in) Southern Oregon? I'm thinking of moving there from Asheville myself!

John Gaquin 01-10-2009, 06:42 PM North Raleigh here. Seen a lot of Triangle area Es chime in here -- we ought to set up a meet-n-eat 'round here somewhere. For starters, how about Sat, Feb 21? Plenty of notice, details to be determined. Any takers?
kerri716 01-11-2009, 12:19 AM I think that's a great idea! I haven't been able to make any of the other meet & eats mainly because of a lack of free time on my part. It would be much easier to make one held in the Triangle area.

BTW, check out the thread below "2009 Mid-South Beach Blast" detailing an upcoming camping weekend right down in your area.

cxz215 05-03-2009, 06:36 PM Well to bring this thread back, I've had my E for about 2 days now. I love it and I am normally driving around Burlington and such. I need a sticker it looks pretty sweet.
John Gaquin 05-03-2009, 11:06 PM Well, welcome, cxz! I'm in Raleigh, so perhaps we'll cross paths. First though, show us that new E!! Pics are good! Lots of folks here, and I'm sure they'll chime in.
Note the upcoming Spring Fling camping trip just two weeks hence. Great time, great people, great food, and great dogs, too!! :D See the thread by that name in this Mid-South section. We had a Triangle area Meet 'n Eat a couple of months ago that was great. March there was some camping down by Wilmington. Need to set up another meet around here soon, but May is kinda busy for me. Stay in touch, mod your E, and post some pics!
BTW, you can get an EOC sticker and other things by hitting the "Honda Club Store" link above.

Its pretty funny I never really saw any Es in my area till I got one lol. Still not as many as my camaro though, wish I could keep it :( Also thanks ele for the welcome.
-todd- 06-03-2009, 09:04 AM I am living in greensboro area just purchased my 2009 CBP SC and love it. I had to drive 3 hours to Greer SC to get it since at the time there were no Black SC's in North Carolina. I am glad I drove the distance to get this beauty!!!
John Gaquin 06-03-2009, 09:51 AM Welcome, Todd! Yes, there are many Es around, many of whom I'm sure will chime in here, and your timing is perfect! Check the recent posts on this thread: http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41058 for info about our upcoming Meet & Eat right there in Greensboro. Looks like about ten or a dozen of us wierdos, uh- Element afficionados , will be there. Post some pics of that new ride, and we look forward to meeting you on the 13th!
Blue Devil 06-03-2009, 10:21 AM I posted hello in the general forum, but not here yet. Got an '05 Ralleye Red EX AWD MT about two weeks ago. Loving it so far. I'm in the Cary area, my wife drives it most days and she is a student at Duke School of Nursing.
