What's everyone's thoughts on the redesigned 2007 Nissan Sentra? If you haven't seen it yet, check out www.nissanusa.com. I really like the Altima-like styling in the front and the clear tails in the back. The interior looks great too. The top trim level comes with leather and all the amenities for under 20,000. Some of the other cool features were the huge glove box (can fit two purses) the large trunk, the iPod plug in, the trip computer which shows mpg and miles to empty, the new engine/transmission setup, the RF stereo, I could go on and on....I also like the reliability that comes with having a nissan. We had a 95 altima for 10 years and it was a great car. My dad never took care of it (only changed the oil a few times) and it still ran for 10 years (and would have gone a lot longer with a little transmission work)

What do you guys think?

I really like how there are two trunks, kinda. There is the main trunk and then a hard wall that creates a space between the wall and the back seats. Enought space for valuables like laptops, purses, etc so that they are out of sight from the interior of the car and the trunk. Apparently the space is wide enough for a basketball to fit in. I just love the new look of the car inside and out. There is even a small glovebox by the driver's left leg that can fit a phone, sunglasses, and a wallet which is nice so that there isn't a lot of clutter. Also, the driver's side sun visor opens and you can put cd's in it. It's cool little things like that that can put a car over the top and make it a great car. The Sentra has the right price, a nice engine/transmission, all the little bells and whistles, and the reliability of a nissan. I'll definately be looking at this when the accord dies (hopefully not for a few more years)

Does anyone know when this car comes out? I looked at everything on Nissan's website and couldn't find a thing. Maybe I'm just blind

I am more concerned that your Dad only changed the oil a few times over a 10 year period :???:

Yeah, he looks at cars as a way to get from point a to point b. He doesn't really maintain the cars unless its obvious when he is driving (i.e. sqeaky brakes, bad shocks, etc) I guess oil just slipped his mind :-o . He also crashed that car into the back of a huge truck when he was driving down the highway. I think he said he was looking up at a plane to see if the landing gears were down (near an airport) and then he looked back at the road and a huge truck with a big hitch/ball was stopped in front of him. The car looked like an accordian and it had a HUGE hole in the hood but he drove it home anyways

Here's a couple more:

In the early 80's he had a company car and the company was moving offices. It was his job to transport part of one of the copiers/printers and he had a tray full of toner or something and he had it on the floor in front of the passenger seat. While he was driving, he managed to spill all that toner under the passenger seat of the car making the tan interior black.

He also had our brand new 98 Windstar mini van at work with him less than a month after we got it. He was driving it out of the parking garage and taking the turns too fast coming down the ramps and managed to hit the passanger side on the wall and it dented the door, knocked it off the track, and took pretty much all the paint off.

we should start a club called "Meat and Potatoes" on the board. If someone posts a rant or an angry post (like we tend to do), they get put in the Meat and Potatoes club. No one will ever match the anger of meat though.

Too many doors.

 You mean you would rather have a 2 door, right?

Yes, two doors. I grew up with two door cars. 64 Pontiac lemans, 68 GTO, 55 Chevy 2 door, 59 Chevy Biscane (POS), etc. 4 doors were never considered sporty. I can't get past that. I still like 2 doors. ...or like the Element, the illusion of 2 doors. I also like the Toyota FJ Cruiser with it's hidden rear doors.

I also like 2 door cars. They are sleeker, smaller, and generally more sporty looking. But, if I plan on keeping my next car for 10 years, we will definately have multiple kids by then and I don't want to have to deal with car seats in the back of a 2 door car, not fun. My fiancee has been pushing me to consider a new 2 door civic, but unless the price goes down about 2 or 3 grand, I really don't think the price is worth it.
