I really like the look of the painted spoiler. How much did it cost to get it painted? And how long did the paint shop have to have it? Did they install the spoiler or did you? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to figure out how much it is going to run me to place a painted spoiler on my E.

I had this done to my E about a month ago...painting was $150 and I got it back in two days......myself and friend installed it in about 45 minutes very carefully. Not that hard to do...kinda scary drillin holes in your E though..EE

That's a Cloud Rider grill? Could you give a better look at the front? It looks like they went around the license plate, right?

Thanks!

The grill is designed to go around the license plate bracket and is held on with J hooks.
It is very easy to install . I'll try to load a few more pics soon of the grill and the
painted spolier . The spoiler was painted in 1 day by the Honda body shop for $100 CDN . It was installed by Honda because I ordered the spoiler with my element. The piece was about $500 CDN installed .Ed @Regina Sask

Aha! I thought the Cloud Rider had something to hold the front license plate on - now I see it's designed around the factory LP holder. OK, I get it.

i ordered the cloud rider grill kit earlier in the week, and now that i have seen yours i am even more excited to get it. how long did it take for them to get you the grill? they estimated 2-3 weeks, but that seems like a long lead time (unless they are not stocking them at all).

Is it just me or is there anyone else that can't see anything about a grille for an Element on www.Madram.ca ?

mborkow

they just had to change the pricing so i am guessing that they took it off of the site temporarily. the increase in price is about US$45.00 (for the stainless model). if you are still interested i would just email (sales@madram.ca) them. we have been corresponding all morning so i would bet someone is still there.

Same thing just happened to me with the increase to the US. I was a little annoyed since I sent several emails to confirm price before I ordered. I was also annoyed because they took my money before shipping. They did however return all my money. It would be nice if MADRAM stood by their word. They automatically refunded my money with out asking. At least they scored points on that level.

Now I have to decide whether to pay the additional money

mborkow
06-14-2003, 03:42 PM
if you decide you should decide today. our orders will be cancelled tomorrow if we not contact them otherwise and agree to pay the additional $

E-Devil

Mine was automatically canceled. They didn't even allow me to say yes or no.

mborkow
06-14-2003, 03:51 PM
sure you can. i chose to deny the payment to me (they had refunded me with paypal) and asked them to bill me the additional $. they agreed to do it.

E-Devil
06-14-2003, 03:56 PM
mborkow - thanks for the info. Guess I was seeing too much red to read all the way through the paypal response. It got me going because PayPal said I would have to upgrade my account to get my money back. The two things linked together got me feeling like I was getting scr*wed over.

mborkow
06-14-2003, 04:00 PM
no problem. i was pretty pissed when i saw the email as well, because paypal was going to take nearly a $5 cut out of the transaction and the idea of paying $5 for absolutely nothing was driving me mad. that is when i contacted madram and told them i was going to deny the refund and that they were going to bill me for the remaining $45. in the end i figured that i would have bought it for the previous price and since i acted quickly there will not be any interruption of getting the grill. in the end, i am already in for $25k so what is another $45...

Slowhand
06-14-2003, 04:31 PM
I may do this but they should have offerred the option first prior to just refunding the money which causes me to lose the service charge. If they just took a regular credit card it wouldn't have been any problem.

E-Devil
06-14-2003, 04:37 PM
I sent an email to Madram telling them this was BS. Funny how they don't reply instantly now :? I also asked them what they are going to do to correct the problem? Maybe if we all give them grief they will at least cut a deal with those of us they scr*wed. If not I have problem trashing on every element board that exists and giving a call the Canadian Better Business Board.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I ordered mine from
www.customtruckproducts.com
The are the distributor in the Vancouver area BC Canada and seem very professional to deal with. They are local for me but through conversations they have shipped quite a few to the US without any problems. This may be an option for those of you that feel they were not treated fairly.
I'd ask for Stacey as she is familiar with the "E" getting a tour of mine...and she has been very helpful.

It's a nice grill and the product shouldn't be knocked because a retailer.

Hope this helps.

Newfnut- Thanks for the alternative. I think that is the way I am going to go. I agree the product shouldn't suffer because one distributor. I think I will also send a complaint to Cloud -Rider about MadRam.
Again thanks for the help

Yes, I just received the e-mail stating that my order was cancelled due to the increase and I could reorder at the higher price if I wanted. I'm going to e-mail them and give them a piece of my mind! :(

I Know they don't have prices marked on their website but you can optain their contact info from the site. They are primarily a wholesaler of aftermarket accessories and that is why they don't post their prices. I dealt with them in person as I live close to that area....
However, if you email Stacey and/or call they will quote you their prices. I don't have an exact $ for you because I'm not sure of the US exchange rate and shipping costs.

Good luck to you! Keep us posted.

I am sure curious as to what their price to the US is

You can also order the Cloud Rider grill screens directly from the manufacturer:

Might be safer.

Just ordered a cloud-rider grill for my Element (Cloud Rider does not sell to retail...at least not in Canada). Cloud Rider was awesome. They sent me info on a retailer close to me and made sure I got the right part. :)

Relative to the high-markup on Madram.ca, I only paid CDN$105 plus tax. Madram's price of US$155, when converted to CDN$ would be approximately CDN$225. Thats a difference of 114%.

Not sure why the high pricing (shipping is included in Madram's price...but double the price???). :?:

Special Note: Cloud-Rider had been making grills with a hole for the block heater on the driver's side. My Element has the block heater on the passenger side. Nadine from Cloud Rider indicated that they have adjusted their cutout to be on the passenger side (did the Element spec change? Or maybe the cutout was just wrong.)

I also just ordered my Grill cover from Cloud Rider
Wow - what a difference in attitude from dealing with Pay Pal and friends

It's in stock and will be shipped within two days
As for the price difference - that to is a plus
The "other" folks are in buisness to make a profit, but ...................

So I'm back to being a happy camper!

2500 miles and still lovin my "E"

Hey Purtill
I love the spoiler. Is it made by Honda and you painted it? How does it come before painting? Mine looks naked now without one.
I just ordered the Cloud Rider black screen without the hole. $111 US dollars shipped to the US, assuming an exchange rate of approximately 0.741345. Apparently Cloud Rider will sell directly if you are in the US.

The spoiler comes painted gray like the colour of the bumpers , but it didn't look right
on the orange paint . Purtill

Tell me why one would want the heater hole. What does it do? In what situation would one not want the heater hole?

I am not very mechanical.

Thanx

You can run the wire through the hole to connect electricity to your block heater so your engine does not break into pieces when the temperature gets cold as a titches wit. I have never needed one so far in California.

I went with Newfnut's suggestion and purchased from customtruckproducts.com . I am paying 125.85 CDN or $96.68 US w/ shipping to the east coast. I went with the silver, no plug and license plate option. The person I spoke with was Stacey. You can email them at sales@customtruckproducts.com or call them 800-663-5356. The delivery is going to take a couple of weeks. But I think it is the cheapest I have seen. They also won't bill until they ship. Novel concept  They take credit cards... so bye-bye PayPal.

FYI: They don't take orders online.

E-dEvil, I'm glad my suggestion helped. I wasn't sure of the cost south of the boarder but you can't complain about that. It's nice when someone can make purchasing something a pleasant experience!

Now that's customer service!

I just picked up my Cloud-Rider Grill from DHL over lunch. I was so excited that I installed the grill in the parking lot. I was able to install it without any tools, but a pair of pliers would have made it easier.....but I just couldn't wait. I got in on in about 20 minutes. AND it looks great. I am sooooo happy.

Cloud-Rider was very fast in the shipping. I ordered it last Thur and DHL attemped delivery on Tue, but I was not home for the past two days. So 3 week days to ship....not bad.

I don't have a digital camera, so no pictures....sorry. But trust me, it looks and fits great. BTW, I got the polished stainless steel finish.

Just wanted to share my joy.

I'm so jealous! My grille is still sitting in the box! It was there when I came home from work, but I started coming down with something and didn't have the energy to put it on (what I really mean is make my husband put it on!). That grille will be on tonight, one way or another!

Hi

Does anyone have pictures of the powercoated grill? I've got to do something, the bugs are thick on my radiator, and the Cloudrider comes in black, so this may be it.

thanks
