Was wondering if anyone else's E key was warm to-the-touch when it comes out of the ignition?
Driving to work and back (a 30-minute each-way trip), I've noticed it's quite toasty sometimes.
Weird?!

Not really.
I'm over-simplifying a little but the Element has an anti-theft system with a chip embedded in the key that has to match a certain voltage signature in order to start the car.
So it's my understanding that there's always a little juice running thru it and I suspect the warm key is a by-product of this. :)

this is a normal characteristic of honda "immobilizier" system
no changes can be done to prevent.....just don't grab the metal part!
