i've been scowering these boards for weeks and have yet to come up with a solution. can someone help me with what wire to splice into for an amplifier turn on? and also i need to run 4 guage wire through my firewall, i would like to run it through an existing grommet on the drivers side but can't find one. please help. current photos would help a great deal being that all of the photos i'm finding on these topics, i can't view or the links can't be found. i've already run all of the wires underneath my flooring and all i'm waiting on are these two hangups so i can hear my jl10w7 in my beautiful element. it's driving me craaazzzy!!!! any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

The amp turn-on wire is on the main radio harness and is a yellow one with a green stripe.

I can't help you with your firewall question. We used a unibit and drilled our own. A 4 gauge wire might be a little thick to snake through parallel to an existing wire run. There is no bit handier than a unibit. Buy one. You can get a grommet at any auto parts store.

Here are Klein unibits (http://www.mytoolstore.com/klein/59001.html). They are the high end of bits and are quite expensive. You can find other ones for less although unibits do tend to be pricey.

To the left of the brake there’s a little diamond shaped foam piece that bumps out of the rest of the smooth foam on the wall. Take that little piece out and there should be a spot to make a clean hole in the firewall.

After you run your wires, just make a cut in the foam piece for the wires to fit in, then just pop the piece back in the wall.

Take that little piece out and there should be a spot to make a clean hole in the firewall. I just ran my wire through there, and there was already a hole with a wire going through it. Plenty of room for my wire also. Don't know what the original was....
