: Do You Like This Element Pinstripe ??
HEMan 06-12-2003, 11:20 PM My SLM EXS AWD Element is on its way to me so I went by the dealer to get an idea of pinstriping. He showed me one which I really like. I don't know if this is furnished by Honda or is aftermarket but I can certainly ask and post here if people are interested. I think I would want it placed a little higher so the word Element and the circle are more centered in the painted area between the window and the fender. What do you folks think?

Thanks to T Mac for hosting the picture. :D
StLouisPenguin 06-12-2003, 11:54 PM It's cool.....for a pinstripe
LadyJane 06-13-2003, 05:24 AM My first reaction when I read "pinstripe" was "Yuck!" But.....I have to admit that it looks pretty cool! 8) It's hard to tell from that pic, but it probably visually breaks up the effect of the large door panels. I would like to see what it looks like straight on. Bet you can't wait to pick up your E! :D
meanelvis 06-13-2003, 06:27 AM that actually does look surprisingly good-- cant wait to see!
lon777 06-13-2003, 06:29 AM I'm not particularily keen on pinstripes, but that one looks pretty nice and tasteful.
isketerol 06-13-2003, 07:18 AM Nice!
jsc173 06-13-2003, 08:43 AM Less is more.
Pinstripe, maybe.
More Element decals/badging, fake "H3" decals, nyet.
It's my opinion -- I could be wrong.
boneheadz 06-13-2003, 09:21 AM I love it, where can I get one?
Brooklyn-Element 06-13-2003, 11:39 AM that looks hot, can u hook me up with one of those?
HEMan 06-13-2003, 01:19 PM My salesman has apparently taken the weekend off but I will inquire next week regarding the source for these pinstripes. Will also ask about colors and post the info here when I get hold of him.
Galapagos Green Gal 06-13-2003, 01:38 PM I really like this, it breaks up the large door panels. I also like it because it puts the model logo on the vehicle!
I wonder what they would use for green...
frenchtoast 06-13-2003, 02:06 PM My SOP EX arrived with an uninvited double pin stripe in silver and gray. It was NOT COOL. Dealer removed it. The one in the picture is quite cool. Might have kept one like that maybe. Mine was yuck-o-la.
Don Chico Brewing Co. 06-14-2003, 04:48 PM Ooh, I like this pinstripe too. Hope they are available to the masses.
GYPSYTDA 06-14-2003, 05:58 PM yeah I too, when I saw pinstripe thought gasp.. i never liked them.. but that one is very cool.
I would be interested to know what colors would go with each paint color... as well as price and how we could get that.. is it available across the board or just where you are.. etc etc.. very nice thank you so much for sharing!

Brooklyn-Element 06-20-2003, 09:48 PM i have found that no matter what you do will ever make the element look fast... might as well put a 50 Cal machine gun on top of mine and start a neighborhood patrol.... he he he...
Mark II 07-20-2003, 05:13 PM So how did it work out? Pictures please.....
zarathustra 07-20-2003, 05:43 PM Prefer it without.
fstopz 11-11-2003, 11:22 PM How about the E sticker without the pinstripe????

The same thing happenned to me, but I had to remove it myself. It wasn't a sticker either, the pinstripes were painted on. It took me forever to remove it using nail polish remover.
MikeQBF 11-12-2003, 01:23 AM >nail polish remover.
OMG! Nasty stuff to be using around automotive finishes. But ya' gotta do what ya' gotta do!
The pinstripe was actually painted on? Wow. I haven't seen anybody do painted pinstripes in years.
Pimpn E 11-19-2003, 04:42 PM As for the pinstripe...like all pinstripes NFW!! (IMO of course).
But...if some of you wish to have that pinstripe with the E logo or simply just the E logo without the ps simply visit your local sign shop that cuts vinyl lettering (Signs Now!, Signs in a Day, etc.). The E logo can be reproduced quickly and cheaply by bringing in your own camera ready artwork (stolen from the web) or any half-competent employee at one of these shops could reproduce that logo in 5 minutes or less from a picture.
As for the pinstripe, basic black (or whatever color you choose) is available at any auto parts store. Simply coordinate the vinyl logo to match. Done deal in minutes for a few bucks.

Watching a good pinstriper in action is amazing. There are still lots of these artists around. If you ever need one, go to a Harley dealer and they can usually recommend someone good.
