I figured tires & wheels.... so I posted about brakes in here (sorry if it's the wrong board).

My brakes are feeling "light" lately (it feels like I have to push harder to get the car to slow down). I could be nuts, but I'm going on a long trip this weekend so I'm getting them checked tomorrow.

Just a question: if they tell me that they need to be replaced, approximately how much would it cost (on average... not too high [horrible deal], not too low [great deal]).

FYI: I have a 2004 E with just under 30K miles on it.

THANKS

wow great handle , david gilmore from pink floyd was just at radio city here in nyc . Favorite song MURDER . Solo album , don't remember the name but still that song . WOW . Now getting to your question , I would recommed ceramic over anything else , cost about $75 , labor 1 hr $ 75 low $125 high. When I change my brakes I always have my rotors cut , PEP BOYS does it here for $12 each . I like ceramic because they run cooler and less brake dust . I have 35,000 on my "E" and don't need to change my brakes yet , but that could be to your driving habits and alot of stop and go . All of my miles are highway so that explains alot .
good luck and drive safe
