: Anyone go to Sport Honda in Silver Spring, MD?

There's a Honda "dealership" several blocks from my house, but I'm a little wary of it because it's very small and always seems empty... it looks almost abandoned and makes me not want to trust it, ohhh, but it's so convenient! Anyone been to Sport Honda in Silver Spring, MD? Are they any good?

I need an oil change, an inspection (and adjustment, if necessary) of the drive belt, and maybe the $150 wash and wax detailing service. (I seriously don't have time to wax the E but it needs it badly!)

If anyone has a better suggestion for a car detailing service, that would be welcome, too. I'd ideally like to get the inside vacuumed, mats cleaned, and the entire thing done with Armor All... and I just don't have the time.

I'm not familiar with that specific dealership (though I do know the area in Silver Spring) but as far as the detailing goes, take it to an actual detailing shop. Honda may do an ok job with it, but if you take it to a real detailer, you will get way more for your money. They guys at honda didn't do a good job on detailing our new E before we picked it up. There were marks all over it and there were still tape lines from the white plastic that was on it in the lot. Definately take it to a real detail shop. Some places will even come to you and do it in your driveway to save you the time of going to drop off the car.

When I take my "E" in for service , my dealership always offers a free car wash. I suspect that they just take the car over to the car wash and have it detailed . I can't see them having a guy hang around just to do detailing (whenever that happens) IMO . So I agree with everyone else , take it to a detailer !
good luck

Are you speaking of the Quick Service on E-W Hwy or the dealership on Rte 29?

Hmm, I guess the quick service on East-West Highway. That would explain why it's so small and empty-looking?

Where on 29 is the other one? Are you familiar with it? I still take my car to my old dealership in VA, but would love to use one closer to Silver Spring if anyone has a postive recommendation!

I worked for the cleanup dept at the honda dealership that I baught my E. They did have a guy hanging around to detail...infact there were like 15 of us. I dont know about other dealerships, but I'd almost certainly trust the main detailer at the dealership over a detail shop.

It's at the Montgomery Auto Park at 29 and Briggs-Chaney Rd, a friend bought his Civic from there years ago. The Honda dealer that is also close to you is Ourisman Honda in Bethesda, That's where I bought my E from.

How much do the dealerships charge for an oil change?

I bought mine from Herson's, but I just broke 1K miles. Only 9K left to go!

I had lots of problems with Herson's Honda, so I take mine to Criswell. They charge $29 (I think) but they usually send out coupons before hand...or you can just do what I do..I tell them I left my coupon at home and they give me the coupon price anyway. The only reason I don't just take it to my mechanic is because I don't have to make an appt at Criswell, and they run my car through the car wash. :D It usually only takes about 15-20min sometimes less. (I had a 2003 E and they treated me really well)

Criswell's the best!!! We bought all 7 of our elements from them in germantown, and we buy all our chevy work trucks from the criswell in gaithersburg . There a breeze to work with and like kattoon said an appointment is almost never needed . Ask for stacy in the bay she'll take real good car of you .

Thanks for the info! I'll be sure NOT to go back to Herson's. They just gave me a better deal, so I went with them. Oh well. That's the last of them, I guess!
