On a daily basis, my 4 Pekingese furbabies ride with us across town to my mother's house...along with my 2 daughters. I needed something to keep them in the back area and not wondering around the front, getting under my feet or scratching up the cup holder area.

So here's what I came up with. It's cheap, easy to install or uninstall, and best of all it works for me. Of course this wouldn't work for large furbabies, but it's perfect for the small, bow-legged kind:)

that looks like a clever mod! nice job. Is it just rigged up with bungee cords? or is it something you purchased?

I bought it at Wal Mart and it showed it being used to hold a helmet onto a motorcycle. I paid around $4.00 for it and just cut it down to fit the opening between the seats. It is made of bungee cords but the knots in each corner are such that when you cut some of the rows of squares off, it doesn't come undone. I just used a lighter to melt the ends then used a Sharpie to blacken in the white centers that showed.

It's just what I was looking for. My furbabies are short and just needed something to help define "their space":) Everything I've seen online looks to be for big dogs and are made of metal. I was wanting something soft and black so it would match my interior.

Hope this might help someone who is looking for something similar.

Brilliant! Wish that would keep my Gidget in the back.
