: Rear Facing Seats

I recently acquired two extra rear seats for my Element, and wish to create a removeable set of rear facing seats for sports events. With the sunroof and rear doors open, it should be quite a pleasant perch. Has anyone else attempted this? I figure on some sort of wood or aluminum plate with mounts facing backwards. I do not plan to use them while driving - thus no seat belts needed.

Any ideas?

I forsee a plywood substructure that would fit into the hole from the tire cover to stablize it. I just have to figure out how to anchor them, and if I want to try to duplicate the anchoring points from the back seat loacation. If I come up with a unit like this, anyone could take their back seats and reverse them for "orchestra seating" as needed!

this is a farfetched idea, assuming that the seats are identical, just with mounts/cupholders bolted onto opposite sides.

assuming that, all you'd have to do is rip into the 2 extra seats and unbolt the current hardware. then pull a switcheroo with the hardware and bolt 1 side's hardware to the other side's seat. the result being backward facing seats with factory hardware.

i'm sure ya'll thought of it already but just thought i'd put it down in case.
