: My E's first tailgating: Jimmy Buffett at Jones Beach!

Last night I took my E for its very first tailgating experience at Field 4 of Jones Beach before the Jimmy Buffett show. My friend who was with me but was skeptical about the E has been won over forever, loved the comfort, loved the space. He joked about starting EPC.com, the Element Passengers Club. So we didn't go too crazy with the food, just some sandwiches and chips but we did have the super-yummy Shark Bites to drink. I got this drink recipe at Pleasure Island in Disney World last winter.

SHARK BITE:
Orange Juice
Cranberry Juice
Barcardi Limon
Barcardi O
Peach Schnapps
garnish with cherries, oranges, or pineapple as you see fit

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Bottom Line: Honda Element: $23,000
Jimmy Buffett Tickets: $140 off Ebay
Pitcher of Shark Bites: $13
Tailgating at Buffett in my new E: Priceless

Sounds like you guys had a blast! And your friend has the right idea....passengers need a special site to brag about the E's too:)

Have any pics of the E tailgating party to share? Would love to see the fun you guys had:razz:

Hey Wildfire1324! We initiated our 2005 FBP at the Buffet concert in Charlotte last month! We had a great time, BluEbEllE hauled a cooler and all our goodies AND had the best sound around (Unfortunately, no pix to post) I'll definitely try the sharkbite.....:-D

were the state police bugging tailgaters?

the party pooped us at James Taylor, and Sting. we had bottled beverages... will have to do the dixie cup thing next time. very strict rules outside in the lot, and even stricter entering the theater.

how was the show.

he is a great live performer.

Lookin back at my background tryin' to
figure out how I ever got here.
Some things are stil a mystery to me
While others are much to clear.
I'm just livin' in the sunshine,
Stay contented most of the time.
Yeah, listenin to Murphy, Walker and Willis,
Sing me their Texas rhymes.

Now most of the people who retire in Florida
are wrinkled and they lean on a crutch.
And mobile homes are smotherin' my keys;
Well I hate those bastards so much.
I wish a summer squall would blow them
all the way up to fantasy land.
They're ugly and square, they don't belong here.
They look a lot better as beer cans.

Yeah, That's why it's still a mystery to me,
Why some people live like they do.
So many nice things happening out there,
Never even seen the clues.
Whoa, but we're doin' fine, we can travel and rhyme.
I know we've been doing our part.
Got a Caribbean soul I can barely control
and some Texas hidden here in my heart.

Good recipe.
So do you have a mod for a shark fin. I was thinking of buying an extra sun roof and fiberglassing a fin to it just for JB parties. That way I can put it in storage the rest of the time.

I know this is an old thread, i found it on google and registered here just to post this, sorry, but it's important!

you forgot the final ingredient of the Shark Bite!

mix the ingredients as you list them then:

splash a shot or so of bacardi 151 rum on TOP of the drink and do not stir! and drink from a straw (so that the bite gets you as you finish the drink).

i got the same recipe from the guy serving them outside the rock and roll club at pleasure island a couple years back. these are GREAT at parties and YES, you can make them by the pitcher, but you need to add the 151 individually as the drinks are poured.

happy shark biting! :-P

There are threads about it here somewhere. Honda will have another hybrid, but does not look like will go hybrid with the E: http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48326&highlight=hybrid

thanks for the advice. the E is definitely on my short list after i trade the pilot.

don't forget to try the shark bites WITH the bite in it. it's a whole different drink! :)

Oh wives... :D I am a wife and luckily I learned to drive a stick without burning out two clutches. My hubby would have been very mad otherwise OK, I first drove in the parking lot with my mom's old Citroen- a French car (posting a picture so THEY don't complain):-P

You were in the wrong parking lot! lol Don't park in the Theatre lot, park in Parking Field 4, go to the North East corner of the lot. No Police to harrass/annoy you. We were there last night for The Police. We tailgated for an hour or so without hassle. :-) Then we walked across the Wantagh and to the theatre.

AWESOME show! :D
