The rear window is interesting and it seems that many changes reflect other cars?? Where's the Honda originality!!

the tail lights are just plain FUGLY. they really need to let go of these over sized monsters. ending them at the botton of the window would have been more than adequate imho. i still like the funkiness of the first gen CRV the best.

Looks like a RAV-4 crossed with the Volvo suv.

Honda is taking it's styling in a new direction. First the Civic, now the CRV.

Now am I correct in that the new Civic went to a new platform this model year? The 2007 CRV moves to the same platform (and the Acura RDX too). Wonder what that means for our beloved E? figure it to move in 2008 or 2009? About the time of the next redesign? Hmmmmnnnnnn..........

They'r not oversized...old sizes were undersized...bigger is better if that makes them more visible...there's also the issue of intensity and location; a lamp can be big but of low intensity and low-mounting resulting in low visibility. This was the case in some cars in the 60's and 70's before much regulation came into play...a lot of eye-candy lights that caused a lot of dead and maimed motorists:

"Drivers are better protected by tail brake lights mounted high enough so that a following driver can see the lights of at least two vehicles directly ahead. When all cars are equipped with the high mounted light, it is estimated that 126,000 reportable police accidents and 80,000 nonfatal injuries will be prevented each year, in addition to almost $1 billion in insurance claims." http://www.ntsb.gov/speeches/former/hall/jhc950316.htm

Lights are a big cosmetic issue with Volvo's hype machine calling them "jewels," a Lamborghini owner calling them "provocative:"

Interesting pix of the car and it's disassembled V-12 [six carbs...375 hp]
