I was looking at the Pontiac Vibe before the Element came out and one of the nice selling points of the Vibe was that it was not an SUV, it was a station wagon and thus the insurance was way less for the Vibe than a standard SUV, so my question is, what is the Element rated as? Is it a van? A station wagon? An SUV?

Probably a SUV. It's going to cost about $200 CAD more a year than my Chevrolet S-10 with extended cab.

Insurance is higher for a Civic or Element - more than my 2000 Chevy Blazer 4x4 w/ 6 cylinder. Couldn't believe it!
