Saw on the news last night that the Element ranked Poor in the crash test invloving another vehicle T-boning an Element. This is mainly because of the lack of passenger side air bags. Hopefully the rating will get better once the passenger side air bags start coming on the Element. Does anyone know if you can get passenger side air bags installed later if you buy an Element without them already?

No you can't. The sensor systems need to be factory installed.
