lol K-Dogg...still stuck on that cold air intake...Actually I wouldn't mind seeing one myself but, as far as I know there aint many running them because of most like to run fogs. The CAI filter would end up getting in the way of the fogs (that is what I hear)...oh well....cool

Yeah, that's what I hear too, the filter supposedly sits in the void right where the fog assy goes... Oh well. I'm rethinking my mod's and may start w/the bolt-on engine upgrades before the wheels (& suspension?). Maybe I'll keep my E a 'sleeper'!

Hey K,
If we ever hear from Danze again maybe you can ask him...He's got Intake plenum and catback exhaust on his....I myself don't really think it would make much of a difference (maybe 3 hp if lucky) but it should feel alot better up top and it would prob help out somewhat with the mpg....I think side step bars and wheels would be a better investment but who knows...cool

Saw a guy at the rifle range get stuck in less than 2 ft of water in a brand new Mercedes SUV. The mechanic with us said it was because he had a CAI which just sucks in anything directly into the engine. After they towed the car out, it still wouldn't start and our mechanic friend said the engine is probably gone so you may want to rethink the CAI especially since you live on the Windward side.

He must've really plowed thru that water e.g. "offroading" to hydrolock his engine! Everything I read in the posts say you REALLY need to submerge the filter to do that. Maybe a bypass valve would have been the ticket... What was he thinking? It's a Mercedes, not a Jeep. Well, there's always the short ram option.

I guess there's a reason for all of that piping, a resonator box, more piping, and a filter box before the air gets to the throttle body. Just looking for a little bolt-on performance for that little extra "kick", especially on my morning commute. Drivers on H-3 are brutal, especially when it comes to merging... No mercy, I tell you!

I know exactly what you mean, K-Dogg. Performance of the E is a little pathetic sometimes.

Yipes! "WADA" HA HA HA ....hEY maybe he is the guy that drives like he owns the road...Got cut off twice by a guy in a mercedes SUV...oh well.....I guess he can afford it....

What was really funny was it was his wife's new car. He had to call the tow truck since it would not start. Imagine him trying to explain that to his wife. Also, since the water was muddy, none of the guys helping him wanted to wade in the water to attach the tow hook.

Aloha Folks,
I just heard on the news that the State is starting work on Kalanianaole Hwy on the stretch between Sea Life Park and the Makai Pier. They're closing the makai side of the hwy for the next 3-4 weeks and contraflowing the mauka side in order to install concrete pilings to address the erosion problem.

Sounds like traffic's gonna be a mess in that area for a while... Perhaps we should reroute the cruise on the 13th? Just thought I'd throw it out there for discussion.

Mahalo!
