After seeing this I don’t think I will ever buy another American car.
I planed on getting a Camaro the 2nd year they came out but I could not even finish watching the video to see the car.

chimphappyhour 07-28-2006, 12:24 PM Hmm, I'm getting an unavailable message. What did it say?
MikeQBF 07-28-2006, 01:55 PM Same here. That link hasn't worked since it was posted. Do you have another link?
(I will note that the GM "A-body" models - Camaro and Trans-Am - have been slated to get the axe for years. A blind guess here is that they're putting the Camaro name on a gussied-up Cobalt. Yuck.)

I couldn't get it to work either. Here's another source I got when I googled. Pretty hot looking car...I wonder what information his link contained that turned him off.
MikeQBF 07-28-2006, 02:11 PM Cool. My mis-guess stands corrected. Looks nice.
I do think Ford did a better job with the "retro" flavor. I had a '69 Mach I, and the new 'stang always makes me double-take.

No that’s not the correct link I found it on the Chevy website. This is how I did it.
I am not sure why that link did not work. This is how I found it
http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/
Then clicked on “see it unveiled” then a little movie pops up
This is what I copied

But it dose not work just like u guys said.

I read that about 6 times before I got it ha-ha:-D
MikeQBF 07-28-2006, 09:04 PM Oh, I see... it's Flash. About as bad as .php and other executables that burrow under the URL, so you can't copy and paste the links since they don't go where you think they do.
Anyway, for those who will put-up with Flash (I won't), you have to go to the Chevy link.
tango 07-28-2006, 11:07 PM I don't like it overall - it has some great parts but they don't look like they are supposed to be on the same car. I don't like the front end at all. The headlights are wrong, the lines of the front end with the hood are wrong - it's got that odd "flat" edge around the hood itself and then all the curves - it doesn't flow well. Same thing with the top of the rear deck - that "flat area on each side above the rear quarter panel. It just destroys the lines of the car. The side lines are the nicest part - but frankly it reminds ma a lot of the Vette - in fact almost too much like the Vette IMHO. And finally, I know it's the latest style but the tires and wheels look too big for the car - and all wheel, no sidewall. Nope - I wouldn't buy it if I were in the market.
And can ANYONE explain to me the reason almost all photos and/or the actual cars themselves that are concepts/prototype are silver/grey vehicles? It is the most blah color - no definition - and thus none of the lines really POP like they should. I know there MUST be a very good reason cause almost everybody does it - anybody?
bobhch/hchbob 07-28-2006, 11:43 PM Well I think and hope that this Proto-type will change. I mean look at the Challenger that is coming out. It is smooth and slick. If Chevy wants to get this Camaro back on the market they will surely make lots of changes....I hope!
If they leave it like it is..............Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz game over.
Only time will tell but, red with white or black stripes. Yeah baby! :D
I do think that Chevy is a little slow out of the gate on this one. Some guy at work has a new Mustang and it is Sweet! Ford did a Fantastic job via Retro. Mrs. bobhch would love to have one......not kid friendly like her (yuck) Dodge Mini van that seats 7.
chimphappyhour 07-28-2006, 11:47 PM I like a good drum line, but I can't really sit through all that.
myspark1 07-30-2006, 01:15 PM The Camaro concept is not quite as ugly as the Charger, but is the same kind of mish-mash of line, flow and style. A miss.
I agree that the Challenger concept - one that I hope sees production! - has the right sense of line and proportion in referencing the muscle cars, and benefits from having the wheels pushed uot to the corners of the vehicle. The shorter overhangs are attractive, particularly compared to the original car.

rhythm_ace 08-12-2006, 09:47 AM I guess the Camaro's return is official:

The Camero is ok looking. Better than the Challanger. Not quite as good as the Mustang. So from a car perspective I am curious, but from a business perspective I am stumped.
How many can they sell and can it make profit? Or to put it another way, what Chevy really needs is a decent family sedan to take on the Accord and Camry-not a niche pony car.
