: I couldn’t believe people would do such a thing like this.
I just want to share this with all EOC and dog lovers. There is a field, which is very close to my house, and it’s huge. It was a baseball field before and now turned to Dog Park. Last night we (Pansib and I) went there after I got off from work. There was no one else. He ran around for a while and started to look for water in a bowl. I forgot to bring water today but hey, there’s one bottle of water has already there in the park so I gave it to him.
We came home and he’s fine. Today, we went again in the morning. One lady came and told me that someone has been poison the water and left it in a dog park. Couple dogs have die already. I was so shock and that bottle still there! I immediately threw it away. My girlfriend and I both have to go to work all day and we have to leave him home alone. I wanted to stay home and see how he’s doing more than anything in the world but I couldn’t really call off work today… I cannot focus on work at all today and just want to go home. I finally manage to leave work early. I came home and he just so happy to see me…
Thank you God, he is okay. If anything had happened to him, I wouldn’t forgive myself, ever… I don’t know what kind of people do such a terrible thing like that and I pray everyday not to meet them. Be careful out there. Not everyone likes your dog.
MikeQBF 08-02-2006, 09:25 PM That wouldn't be Cipriani Dog Park, would it? [shudder] That was "our" dog park when we were out there.
hiker chick 08-02-2006, 09:32 PM Scary, Tiki. Glad to know your pup is fine. Would've given me a heart attack worrying about my Gidget (Samoyed).
Little wonder that serial killers often start out as children abusing and killing animals.
Recently I have found myself reacting to stories of people doing terrible things -- to people and animals -- by thinking they should be exterminated.
They are a waste of life. Not worthy of rehab even if it were possible.
grotto 08-02-2006, 10:12 PM I totally agree. I could never be a vet--it would tear me apart. I can't deal with injured pets. It's bad enough that people get animals and then simply abandon them (which was how we got our cat, George, 17 yrs ago), but people that go out of their way to harm non-threatening domestic pets makes me want to do something to them that would land me in jail for a very long time.
UnoKitty 08-02-2006, 10:35 PM My sympathy. That is truly a terrible thing. I hope that whomever is responsible can be caught and punished.
At the same time, I am pleased that your dog is okay. Your dog is fortunate to have some one like you to care for it.
Best of luck.
jurneez 08-02-2006, 10:37 PM Tiki,
That story sickens me......People sure know how not to be human.(humane)

MikeQBF 08-02-2006, 10:54 PM EDIT - This didn't involve the park I know, and the news report I was able to find doesn't link the incidents to a specific dog park, but a neighborhood:
http://www.nbc11.com/news/9559313/detail.html
It's still dispicable.
jdiane 08-03-2006, 01:09 AM Tiki, where are you? the article stated by mike listed pac heights and noe valley. I have friends who have dogs in noe valley... scary stuff...
jdiane,
It's Douglass Playground (Douglass st and Clipper), Diamond Height Blvd, not Noe Valley...
One good advise that I got yesterday, if you dog always pick up tennis ball in dog park, always rinse it first.
Mike,
I just couldn't believe this is hapening here in San Francisco...
I'll keep you guys posted...
Tiki
SheDevil 08-03-2006, 01:38 PM I have horses....and they do the same thing to the horse buckets at a local park. A few horses have had kidney failure from this kind of stupidity. I expect the worst in people and scenarios....I hate to say it. I hate even more to be like that...but most of the time life shows us we have no choice. Karma will get those bad guys...maybe not tomorrow,...but it'll happen ;)
elemento 08-03-2006, 02:03 PM Yipes!! what is this world come to? If everybody drove E's the world would be a better place...=)
hardguy 08-04-2006, 02:30 AM Yep, some people are just sick in the head. Reading this thread reminds me of those animal cops shows on the Animal Planet channel. I get angry sometimes when pets get abused by their owners like leaving their dogs chained outside in the cold with no food or water in the winter in Detroit that the dogs had to eat the damn snow to barely survive. There also was one dog on another episode that had been chained for so long that the rusted chain was dugged into his neck so the flesh, skin, and fur just grew around and over the chain and gave him a bad infection. Those good for nothing pet owners should be tied up and have the exact same thing done to them as punishment in my opinion. That will learned them there morons!
themoonglow 08-16-2006, 12:57 AM What goes around comes around. Whether they get what's coming to them now or later, they'll get it, and I can't say I'll pity them.
RobfromLI 08-16-2006, 01:26 AM did you see the story in NYC Central Park where some shathead left meat in a bag, but loaded the meat with pins. a dog ate it, and got pretty banged up. in the news in NYC this week.
and we call dogs animals???
PirateSolo 08-16-2006, 01:49 AM What kind of person wants to poison someone elses dog? Just tells you the world we live in today.
