I'm curious --
What mileage, on average, are you getting, in what kind of driving?
I've read that when you drive it, you never forget that you are driving a big, heavy truck, ie., you really FEEL its large size. Is this true? What are your experiences in terms of how you perceive its size? I've driven an Explorer before and I can never escape the feeling that I'm driving a barge, and it's a really unsettling sensation.

We have the EX with almost all the accessories. Nav, backup camera, tow package, side steps, fog lights, and roof rack.
All and all it is a good vehicle. It has power that wil suprise you for it's size.
MPG =16 everywhere. My fiance is 5'2" and drives it daily. She was really nervous with it the first month or so, but loves it now. I greatly advise the backup camera. It has saved us some serious repair and vet bills.
Pros:
Fit 7 passengers comfortably.
Great audio standard.
Seat belts for middle second row seat and all third row seats detach from seats and retract to ceiling.
Middle row middle seat folds down for cup and snack holding.
Center console holds a LOT
Power when needed. Floor it on an highway on-ramp, and you will get up to speed suprisingly fast.
Feels very tight on the road at highway speeds.
Very Quite drive, hardly any road noise at all.
EX model has a lot of sweet things, so look into it (Heated and powered seats and so on).
Will suprise you with turning radius. Make sure to do at least one u-turn while test driving.
L.A.T.C.H. system for the car seats standard.
Cons:
Third row seat is nice, but it sucks that you have to step on the back of the 2nd row seat to get to them. (Muddy Footprints on carpet).
Fog lights are not independant of headlights. So dumb! If I want to use fog lights alone I should be able to.
To flatten third row inot cargo area, you need to slide the second row forward to an almost unroomy position.
Cargo Mat was extra. It is a must have!
Have to remove head rests to lay down third row.
Inside of Center Console warms up big time if heat is on.
Has a window lock feature that stops the kids from opening and closing the windows... but when engaged, you can only control the drivers window??? dumb!!
4WD??? Not worth it at all on this!! Only 1st and 2nd gear will allow this feature up to around 20MPH. No use when towing unless you stop and place it into 2nd or try to slide it in while moving (Not a goood idea).
All and all a good vehicle if you need a lot of seats, or have 4-5 people and want decent cargo space.
