Thank you for the compliment. Buttering up is always good. :-D

I have a question back. Why? Are you expecting people from California?

For the real answer to your question, T Mac runs the home page. PM him.

But if it were to be posted in the Hawaiian section and everyone (I hope) clicks on the New Posts link at the top toolbar then they shouldn't miss it if the thread stays fairly active. You have to remember also that not everyone saves the EOC Homepage address as their main link to the site in either their Favorites or Homepage link. A lot of folks link directly to the main forum page. So the Hawaiian section would probably draw more attention after time when new Hawaiian owners look thru some of the past meeting posts in there. Another option would be to just advertise the meet in your signature and encourage other local members to do so to. I wouldn't necessarily recommend using large images in the signature but a quick visible reminder can draw a lot of attention plus it's automatically attached to all your previous postings. Go to User CP on the top toolbar to set your signature options.

Local meetings are happening all the time everywhere. So it's hard to cater to just one location. An upcoming meetings list on the homepage would be a cool idea tho and it's actually been done before in the past.

I think the Homepage gets shortchanged. It's like the cover on a magazine...gets you to open it up and see what's inside...and any newbie who visits the EOC for the first time will start there. The more local meets listed there the better. It shows that the EOC is a vibrant community to first time visitors without making them work to find the information.

Isn't an upcoming meetings list an ongoing thing?
