Hey All- I'm currently in the market for a new vehicle and am very interested in the '07 E. I noticed that Honda only offers XM satalite radio. Does anyone know if there is a way to change the XM reciever with a Sirius reciever so i can still control the satalite thru the factory radio? I hate having aftermarket parts laying on my dash as well as all the wires and misc things that go along with them. It's not a "make it or break it" concern of mine. But may make my decision a little easier. Thanks

As far as coverting the factory unit I have never heard of one. Why Sirius? Outside of the NFL channels I will stick with XM. Have had it for 3 years in 2 different cars. Their coverage is better in my opinion. Good luck finding the conversion kit though!

Sirius makes a XM to Sirius adapter for GM cars that allows you to do that, but so far I haven't seen it for any other makes. Soundgate also makes aftermarket units that do the same thing, but to my knowledge they don't make an XM to Sirius version for Honda yet...

Best bet is to find a Sirius unit that you can hide as best you can until someone makes a new conversion unit... That's my plan, anyway.

I do believe that XM has great programing and am sure that coverage is excelent as well. But the biggest thing that keeps me with Sirius is Stern. Please- Dont hold it against me....

The other thing that i am worried about is that i would plan on using the iPod adapter as well and i think that is run thru the AUX input- So i wouldnt be able to run that as well as an aftermarket Sirius reciever. I dont bother with RF mods. I did here that this could be done on GM so i think its just a matter of time before one would be avail for Honda. Hopefully its sooner then later.

Try the search feature, or browse the Mobile Electronics sub forum - bottom line is this has been done easily numerous times.

And if you did go with a seperate Sirius receiver it can be integrated very well and easily can hide the wire and power.

Welcome!

Moving to Mobile Electronics.

Welcome to the EOC, Scott. This is a good place.

You'll have to use an aftermarket Sirius reciever and antenna. We have the patented hidden antenna trick, developed by one of the mods here, Genom, so you won't have to see that. You can't adapt the factory XM for Sirius.

You could also replace the factory radio with one that would take a Sirius tuner.

As lwc says, check around. Sirius has been added to an Element literally hundreds of times.
