: What the Azyuk, I mean Aztek owners think of the E
Dear Watson 08-25-2006, 03:35 PM So I'm getting ready to buy the Yoko Geolanders, and I'm doing a search of the web for the words "Element" and "geolander". One of the hits is for the Pontiac Aztek forum. Some guy is asking about their thoughts on the E. Here's the response:
Jack: I think you should start warning or banning people for recommending Honda or Toyota on here. That will teach them not to.
Now I don't know about you, but if I was driving something that looked like my cat just barfed it up, that had the legendary dependability of GM behind it, I'd be welcoming ANY suggestions from others, PARTICULARY Honda or Toyota!
Burn619 08-25-2006, 04:02 PM Where is it?
tooljedi 09-07-2006, 08:44 AM What is the name of this forum? We must spread the word. :D
To protect the innocent, I know a guy who has one! He is so touché he often attacks my poor innocent Element when joked on by other people to divert attention else ware. I pitty him, because he is a nice guy!
The same people say my rides ugly, but cool! I just smile!:-)
Sheniferous 09-07-2006, 12:02 PM Anything they say is null and void because they own an Aztek!!!
tooljedi 09-07-2006, 01:51 PM Well Said! I'll tip my hat to that!
spdrcr5 09-07-2006, 02:12 PM Please do NOT post a link to the thread or the forum. We don't want to get involved in any sort of forum flame wars. BTDT and it isn't much fun for us to have to clean up after all of you little children. :)
Seriously, if you want to share the link please do so through a PM or email.
Thanks.
tooljedi 09-07-2006, 02:57 PM Well thought out about posting the link. Just interested what other people think about the E once in a while! :D
Dear Watson: The Yokohama Geolanders Rule. The best tire for the price I have owned thus far. :D :D :D :D :D

Believe me, we have no issues with discussing other vehicles and trying to find out what others think of the Element. The only thing we don't want are people going to other forums and starting trouble by "defending" the Element then dragging that fight back here. It has happened a few times previously on this site and the ROC. It takes up much more time than everyone realizes.

Granted everyone is more than entitled to their opinion but I think that is how we end of with some of the meat-head Hummer people around here.
Besides to general consensus, the E is not much higher on the aesthetic scale than the Aztec
side note: I saw an aztec today for the first time in a while and that is just 1 car that never really grew on me
One of my clients who would be very much at home on this site bought an Aztec shortly after I bought my E. He liked enough to buy another for his wife. I've never sat inside an Aztec and I thought the Element stupid till I drove one. So who am I to judge?
EDIT: I know, it ain't a Honda. So don't come around here with the GM vs Honda thing.
AZTECS_R_UGLIER 09-07-2006, 11:29 PM I do not post often but I couldnt help but laugh when I saw the thread about the Aztek. I swear the idea for it was probably someones joke in the design department at Pontiac and some nut job in management listened to his 4 year old childs advice and said lets build it. The E takes some getting used to for some, for me it was love at first sight, but when i look at the Aztek i cant tell which is the front and which is the back. Its the first veicle hermafradite.

Honda vs any GM/Ford!!! Hahahaaaaa:shock:

Well said! :D
I understood your previous post! I had a feeling thats what you ment. I just hope you knew I wasn't trying to suggesst this type of action. Thanks for keeping the piece. That behavior is not good anywhere or for anything. :)
DrumminChick 09-16-2006, 03:47 PM My ex wife had an Aztec. I hated it. I couldn't see out of it... it was hideous.... and it was Maroon... it looked like someone barfed up a big maroon turd....
However... it was VERY comfortable to ride in.
That's the only thing I have nice to say.
LMAO.

I just bought a set of Geolander H/T for my Wifes Explorer. Night and day difference, very good sidewall stiffness. I am contemplating a set for my E, but I am only at 15,000 miles and am too cheap to buy new rubber unless I really need it.
Read this tonight and kinda thought about our little E in the bigger picture.;-)

kissya 11-18-2009, 09:01 PM (looking around) I will tell you a little secret my brother almost bought an Aztek. I talked him out of it..... I'm his older sister, I have to look out for him.
ramblerdan 11-19-2009, 09:02 AM I have no problem with the Aztek and considered it in '04 until learning that it wasn't available with MT/4WD. If I cared about looks, I wouldn't be driving an Element.
It's interesting to see how quickly threads devolve into political arguments and name-calling. We have it pretty good over here at EOC.
goosler 11-19-2009, 12:14 PM I'm with rambler dan...... I actually dig the fuglyness of it, just like the element.....
I constantly search ebay for them.....but only find yellow & red ones.......
ramblerdan 11-19-2009, 12:19 PM Now that you mention it, yellow and red are the only colors I remember seeing on the road.
Tim Vance 11-19-2009, 12:57 PM my sister used to have a white one...
but she used to have a Saab too, soo....ya know....
xequar 11-19-2009, 01:37 PM Now that you mention it, yellow and red are the only colors I remember seeing on the road.My aunt and uncle had a Cobalt Blue Aztek. Turns out they're incredibly top-heavy, and my aunt (who had previously driven a Chrysler minivan and now drives a full-sized handicap-accessible van) totalled it when she hit a patch of black ice and woke up upside down in a ditch.
insane_sc 11-20-2009, 08:18 AM The A$$tek it a horrible vehicle imo in so many ways. It looks horrible, if you actually take it camping, your either gonna get stuck in a puddle or have to call a tow truck because mud got in the rear hub and locked it up, yes its a problem for them. Oh, and what about the "im rich but like to camp" Buick Rendevouz, FAIL!
insane_sc 11-20-2009, 08:19 AM my sister used to have a white one...
but she used to have a Saab too, soo....ya know....
What a Saab story, I cried a little.
dorienc 11-20-2009, 06:20 PM But I liked the radio controls back by the rear hatch! And the rear seat folded down into a somewhat comfortable bed, unlike my E. Like the article said, at least GM was taking a chance, instead of just another Blazer.
