I would like to remove the "Ceiling pocket" (the ceiling storage compartment on pg 112 of the owners manual) to access the hot wire going to the dome light, and install a power source for a radar detector

Can anyone advise me on how to remove it?

From the manual:

1) Remove the lens.

2) Remove self-tapping screws.

3) Pull console down, and slide it rearward to release the hooks in front. Take care not to damage the wire harness.

4) Disconnect the front map light connector.

The single wire (WHT/BLU) is always hot, from fuse 3.

How do you remove the lights.

A thin screwdriver between the gasket and lens. you would remove it in the same way to replace a burnt out bulb.
