I don't have the wheels here at work, but was wondering what the Approximate weight of (1) factory steel wheel/tire was?

Thanks in advance,
Jason

The steel wheel, Goodyear Wrangler tire, and the wheel cover weighed 49.5lbs on my bathroom digital scale.

Not really, the steel ones weigh only about 3.5 pounds more than the 03 to 05 alloy wheels w/ the same GY wranglers. Those weighed 46 lbs.

Goodyear shows that the HP Wranger P215-70R16 weighs 24 lbs (new)...so the steel wheel weighs ~25.5 lbs and the alloy wheel weighs ~22 lbs.

This lines up with a thread that I once read. It said the stock wheel weighed 24lbs. However I forget which type stock wheel it was.

If you really want the lightest wheels on the market, look for the Volk Racing Wheels. I like the TE-37's.

what do the Volks wweigh? TireRack has the weight of the wheel listed and the lightest I've seen are in the 19 lb. range for an 18' rim.

That sounds about right for the 18's. You have to remember, if you want lightweight wheels, don't go big. For the sake of best weight combo, 16's are the lightest wheel/tire combo I have found for an E. I had to edit this post due to not wanting to offend anyone on my opinion of looks of wheel/tire combo on the E. To be politically correct: In my opinion, small wheels with big tires does not look proportionate on the E, and I have a thing for big brake rotors.
