Welcome to the EOC, P8ntballer623. My name is Gregg and I'm moderator of this forum. Did you just get your Element? How do you like it?

Hooking up the sub is an easy question. Just go to the top of this forum. You will find a sticky there from eMass, the first electronics moderator. It is titled Element Audio System Integration Wiring Diagram (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3065). You will see a subwoofer connection in the diagram in that thread, with the positive wire a red wire with a blue stripe and the negative wire a red wire with a white stripe. These are on one of the wire harnesses that plugged into your old EX deck (not the main harness). You will need to solder a male RCA plug onto these two wires. Then go to your local Radio Shack and buy a Y connector (I do have to congratulate you on your creative spelling of "connector" :D ) that has one female RCA into two male RCAs. Use this Y adapter to attach the plug you just soldered on to the sub outputs of your Kenwood deck. That's it.

also...i went to my local stereo store...and they were telling me that the only way to hook a aftermarket deck with the stock sub is that i need to buy a new AMP?

No, you don't. You definitely don't need a new amp.

Thank you for your patience on this, P8ntballer623, waiting for me. :) Long day at work. Short drink when I got home.

Big bottle, though. :D

Most likely you want a green plug, but frankly, it's been a year since I looked at the subwoofer plug in my car and I don't remember its color. Maybe somebody else has recently seen this plug and can help out here as to its hue. Whatever its color, you want it the only plug that has eight connectors on it, two rows of four, stacked. There will be just three wires attached to that plug. Two of them are the red/blue and red/white wires you want. Cut off this plug and solder the male RCA plug onto these two wires.

Write if you have more questions. You're doing well for your first time in an Element dash. :)
