O.K. what would you choose-Soft Tail Deluxe, Soft Tail Springer, Dyna Low Rider, Road King?

Of the bikes you listed, the Road King. If I'm just going to pick a new Harley, then the VRSCDX Night Rod Special to go with my NBP EX-P.

I'd like to test ride a V-Rod but I'm tempted by the Soft Tails. Guess I'm a cruiser girl at heart.

Well, you limited me to Harleys. All things being equal, I'd like one of the BMW touring bikes, like the K 1200 LT. The Softtail Deluxe and the Springer Classic are growing on me as I look at them longer.

The best choice is whatever strikes that chord in you, of course.

For myself, I'm infatuated with the Softail Deluxe. Either the new "olive" and black or the limited edition cream and burgundy. Like the vintage looking Springer too.

Have ridden a Fat Boy and Heritage Deluxe. Sure would like to ride a new 6-speed.

Softtail Deluxe...............!!!!
New 6 speed Tranny, big 96inch .........Rumble Rumble

Riding Weather has got to be getting slim in Pittsburgh though - buy it soon and ride as much as you can

I had one of these and absolutely loved it.....got looks everywhere I went.....was reliable, inexpensive and even I could do basic maintenance on it without much trouble.

Its a Ural (made in Russia of all things!).
www.imz-ural.com.

Sold it when the baby came along.....now wishing I'd stored it for a while instead.....oh well.....

When I get home tonight, I'll look on my laptop and see if I saved pics of me with the bike I had.

Deluxe, and Fatboy both look good but I went for the bigger bang for the buck. Got the Heritage softail Classic (FLSTC-I) only because it's basically the same bike but comes with saddle bags and windshield.8)

I have to admit... I am partial to Honda Motorcycles.... but... and I know I'll probably get picked on for this... but if I were to choose any bike for ME... I would choose the V-rod. I am just liking those. I can't help myself. It's a bad @$$ bike. :D

But the new Victory Vegas Jackpot is starting to really lean on me and catch up with the VRod.

Too bad I need to learn first and they cost a pretty penny.

The Harley's that everybody drools over still do not have ABS or anti dive technology. So eventually you will hear one of your Harley buddies say how they locked up a wheel and had to lay her down. BMW K1200RS. 130 hp. God like power and smooth as silk ride. Your Element has ABS why not your bike?

Go for the deluxe. It is the most balanced bike that Harley makes. I have had Road Kings and Softails. Personally I prefer the Softail. One word of caution about Springer models. The front end is much heavier than other Harleys. The Deluxe has a super low seat height and with a Softail you sit into the frame. I like the feel - you really become one with the bike.

I have an '06 Street Glide. It is very nice as well. I went with the Glide because my wife likes to ride with me.

The Dyna's are nice. But I think for longer rides you will prefer the Softail.

I haven't met anyone that didn't love their Softail Deluxe. With the 96 CI and the 6-speed transmission as standard equipment you can't go wrong.

The Ural is actually the old BMW 650. The rights were sold to a company in Yugoslavia. There is a dealer in Austin, Texas. I think they are cool. Don't know if I could handle a side-car though. I'm used to leaning into corners.

I chose the Burgman 650 (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23932) and I have put 8,000 miles on it since June....and outrun several "Hogs"

:-D

No offense, Vick... and I love you dearly... and this is NOT meant as an insult, even though I picked on you before about your Burgman....

I don't think Ann is looking for a high powered scooter. :D

You know I just like to pick on you Vick. :D

This is really sad...I assumed people here-in this particular topic-, somewhat knowledgeable about motorcycles. I was mistaken. My fault.

The very first URAL dealership in the united states is in Waynesboro Tennessee....about 30 miles south of me.

Ahh the Confederate. A fine Louisiana made motorcycle. This is the most dynamite motorcycle made. You have to have a little bit of extra cash laying around to own one of these. But... owning a pretty much hand made motorcycle would be awesome. These bikes are made for two things...
1. Raw cruising speed. AWESOME!!!
2. Drawing in the chicks! This is such an unusual steed they can't stay away.

Look who's talking miss "I think I'll get a NINJA 250".....top speed maybe 65 mph.

I got a complement from a guy riding an R1 today.....he said it was awesome (read that he was shocked) that I kept up with him on the interstate......he was running around 105 mph for about 5 to 6 miles and I was determined that he would not run off and leave me. I would have passed him but I did not want to spill my coffee.

You are just too funny. I think the Burgman is cool. Anytime you can get a scooter than can run with the big boy's, get good mileage and navigate the Dragon's tail without having to hang parts on the tree of shame at the end of the run you have done all right. Besides... my dog would likely be more comfortable on you Burgman with that Corbin seat than my Harley.

Have you considered a Honda VTX1300? I have one and love it. After owning over 20 different road bikes, this may well be my favorite.

i had a honda shadow and found it didn't handle the way a sportster did. it may have just been me-i'm kind of small and not able to muscle a bike around. the harley 1200 that i have is easy to handle, hugs the road on turns, and is fast. i am jealous of my partner's softtail deluxe which is the reason i'm thinking of getting one myself.:)
