I am looking at the Clarion in dash DVD (no navi) and the
Clarion headrest monitors. I think it will be much cleaner look then having
a flip down headliner monitor. The prices I am getting installed is $1,700

Is this a decent price for the system ?

Can you give us model numbers? That would help.

sounds reasonable. I have dual headrest Clarion monitors in our Envoy. Clarion is a very good brand.

Check out the Clarion MAX675VD, it just came out but I have seen it in a few stores in the tampa bay, FL area. Double DIN, dvd, navi option, tv, ipod, etc. for like $1050. So add on two screens for headrests and install and your at about $1700 also, the nav is like an extra $700, butt you can always add that on later, I was looking at this, and just put in like a week ago, the Jensen VM9021TS ($500 new in box on ebay with warranty), all the same features, double din, awesome iPod integration, tv, dvd, xm, etc. And it looks so flush installed in the E. It looks like stock, it is just a flush flat touch screen. It also allows you to control each screen independently, so one screen could watch a dvd, one play a video game, all while you are listening to XM and looking at the navigation. Navigation is like an extra $500, but it is noce to know it has the ability. I started a post on it and put up pics http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28039, keep looking I am going to post more detailed ones later today, and since then I painted the trim ring of the stereo to match the E's plastic, it looks awesome. I am so amazed and happy with this unit.

^ If the Clarion MAX675VD is available now, I'd go with it. It's a sweet unit at least on paper. We here at the EOC, or maybe I should just say Larry here at the EOC, have been waiting for that to start shipping.

Clarion is very good stuff. Even though I really like find no1dmbfan81 made with the Jensen unit - it's a steal - my bet is you'd get both a better picture and long term reliability with the Clarion.

Again, model numbers of what you were looking at would help.

That's the model Gregg. I was looking at that unit myself. I found it new on EbaY for $675. shipped. I'm torn between getting this or the SC rims.

If you can't find anywhere that has the Max675vd yet, let me know and I can give you the number of a stereo shop I saw it at in Fl. I am sure they would ship. It is still hard to come by, Clarion's website says its still not out yet.

blue-ex, in that case $1,700 installed sounds like a fair price. Clarion has been doing serious video for many years. They understand car video.

Check you prices on www.crutchfield.com and you'll see the $1700. installed and you'll see that's a very fair price. Clarion has always produced a quality product.
