Is there a big difference in 4WD vs 2WD E's handling/safety in the rainy driving weather we get in Washington?

I'm kinda curious about this myself, but I have a feeling many will say that better tires on the 2wd would make a bunch of difference. Outofd has said that when the 4wd kicks in at freeway speeds it kinda jerks or something ... I don't remember exactly what he said now, but there was something about going 70mph and having it kick in. I have the 2wd and for rain I intend to get new tires ... I'm slipping too often now.

I'm looking forward to finding out, too. I replaced the factory tires at 1,300 miles, so I know that'll help. The weather has been basically fantastic since I got the E in July, though. Now that it's started raining, I'm looking forward to seeing how well it does under less than ideal conditions.

I have to believe someone here hasn't compared the two, just maybe not Pacific NW'erners.

Oooh. Much better answers in the Shoppin and Test drivin' version of this thread...
