When I bought my 2006 a few weeks ago I had the OEM tires switch for the geolanders as part of the deal. I think they look a lot better as well, and they definelty have more grip. If I punch it on wet pavement I can still get them to break free for a second before the 4WD takes over and gets me going - I don't know if any tire could prevent that! Overall, I am very pleased with them too - especially for the price.

They feel sicky. And they preform that way too! :D

I do run the air pressure a lot higher though!

I haven't checked my pressure yet as my E isn't even one oil change old yet. I was thinking I would when (if) it stops raining. What pressure are you using in yours?

$440 for all with everything! 4. I actually bought the one s on the front first, then then ones on the back a month later. They were out of stock, and my front OEM's were too dangerous for me to go on a trip with my family!

hey, i have bullet valve stem covers, too! sweet! (oh, wait. you already knew that, considering you replied to my post about em. hahaha!)

so let me ask you two questions about your higher tire pressure, and this is relevant to the fact that i still have the stock goodyears on my e...

1] i've heard that higher pressure = better mpg. true? (i know it's not going to be insanely higher, but any little bit helps, says i.)
2] do you experience any significant lack of traction with higher pressure? (my biggest concern is freeway-speed turns.)

thanks!

I'm in Ontario, Canada and the best price I found was $115.00 per tire. I got them put on when I bought my Element last month though - after reading all the posts about bad tires I wanted to switch them right from day one.

WRT air pressure - Wow, I didn't know you could put that much in. Is that what the sidewall says? I haven't even look closely at mine.

Yes I've seemed to pick up a few more miles between fillups!

I actually feel like my E preforms better! The vehicle does not fell nearly as floppy in turns. Actually they feel very safe! If you have lower pressure, your side walls flex and move sideways more. I would suggest you trying it out! :D I have to travel on some really cool onramps and transfer ramps with nice curves. It's not unussual to look down at the speedometer and have to let off the gas! Hope this helps!

I forgot what the limit is, but it does not violate it!

I just checked. Its 35 psi at Max load which it is about 1700lbs or so per tire! I will have to look up the chart, but It works out where I am at approximately 80% of allowable pressure for its specs!

Geolandars are on my short list of tires to replace my Goodyears.

I like those bullet shell valve caps...they remind me when I used to work part time for a gunsmith and reloader.8-)

You need to get out more and step away from the computer if you think tires are sexy Eva Mendez is sexy as is Halle Berry. Watch a Shakira video that is sexy. Tires arent! Spend sometime with a Vickies Catalog.

thanks, tooljedi!

(incidentally, the reason i asked is that i'm working on a comprehensive mpg study with my e, taking all these things into consideration, and PAINSTAKINGLY documenting the results. keep an eye out for my findings in the next couple months!)
