I have been looking around at portable GPS units. After much research and consideration, I think that I would like to get a Garmin Streetpilot c340. Does anyone have any experience with or thoughts about this product that would help my decision making process? This seems like a great all-around GPS unit, but any other input anyone might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have the street pilot 550 and love it.
The screen and most of the functionality is probably the same.
I like the interface and features.
I use the bluetooth interface with my phones as much as I use the gps for directions.
Had these units, not good at all. Go with the TomTom products....you'll thank me!

I've written a review of the c340. Use the Search drop-down in the toolbar, type in c340, and you'll see a handful of threads. I'm too lazy to re-type. :)

I am very happy with all my Garmin products, and their customer service cannot be beat. That Tomtom stuff looks kinda toylike to me.

I agree...get the Garmin. I've had my c340 for about 8 months now. I have been all over the state of Oregon....and even drove to Vegas with it. Great unit, great software/support. Can't find 1 thing BAD to say about it.

When I was looking for a GPS I looked at both theGarmin and the Toy Toy... I mean Tom Tom. For me, the Garmin was far and away superior to the Tom Tom. I now have an SP330 in my wife's car and a NUVI 350 in my E.

I have the older Garmin i5, it's been great, and when it broke Garmin repaired it quickly. Eventually I will trade it in for a c330/340.

Correct, I have the Nuvi 360, it's a treat. Bluetooth connects good & works well. The only downside to that option is using the units speaker during phone calls. Other than that Garmin is the winner in my book.
