Well we had our 1st Annual Fall Indiana Meet!! :D :D

We had a total of 6 Elements. Those that came to the meet....
Chozn4service
Bob Klingbeil
Bofus
sixstring
gn_it&rn-it
and myself

Everyone brought either their better halves or a friend/relative to the meet.

Everything was GREAT and everyone was excited about meeting one another & very friendly. We started out at the park, checked each others rides out, had some yummy brownies and doughnuts and took lots of pics (which will all be posted very soon I expect); Headed to Penske & seen the new SC which looks really nice (espically the Rootbeer Metallic!!)

We then headed to Chipolte!....Those of you who don't know what that is are missing out....is a great little mexican restraunt with burritos the size of your head! While there we taged two or three E's and even had someone in the restraunt with and E that asked us who we were. We gave him a hard time for owning an E and not being on the EOC. :D (we hope to see him as a new memeber soon) While at Chipolte we saw sooo many E's, I was actually suprised that there were so many around and didn't know about the EOC.

After that we headed to Mounds State Park in Anderson, took more pictures hiked on a trail and looked at the beautiful fall colors

We then headed to gn_it&rn-it's house to sit at the bon-fire talked and enjoyed the company, said our "nice to meet you's" and headed home.

All in all was a GREAT!! first meet and will look forward to doing it again hopefully in the springtime.

To those I've talked to on here, it's great to finally put the face with the avatar :D (espically chozn who I've talked to many times). To those new friends I've made, I hope to see you again at the next meet and here on the EOC.

peace!

Thanks for the report, I can verify that those are some fine burritos, at least at their other branches. Glad you had a good time!

All, I'm terribly sorry I ended up not able to attend - I was surprised with a case competition at school (IU in Bloomington), and I couldn't miss it since it was for a class. Next time, I'm absolutely there! Thanks for the pictures, and hope it was fun.

AWESOME pics Man!!!

Those pictures from the park are great....very beautiful scenery this time of year.

The picture angles and artistic flare add a nice touch :)

I was worried Chozn was going to fall down the hill!

Sixstring....we'll have to hook up sometime so I can check out that "jam house"

Also, Chris & Kimberly thanks for the hospitality; the bon-fire was a good time.

Big props to Bob and bofus for driving from so far away! Bofus came up from Kentucky and Bob & his wife came from the Clevelend, OH area.....about 5hrs away! Shows their love and dedication to the E.

Yes gang, I too had a great time on Saturday. I just wish we had had more of a turn out but the numbers we did had made for an intimate setting. We drew attention from everyone who saw us rolling and parked. I think everyone was wondering what was going on? I want to thank everyone for coming out and special Shout Out's to the General Manager of Penske Honda/Chevrolet Bruce Heath and Sales Associate Angie Boyd. I still can't believe non of us took the SC's out for a test drive since she offered. I guess I'll have to go back and do it this weekend if weather permits.

Chipotle was off the chain and I do plan to go back with those discount certificates I got. Mounds Park was nice too. My first time going to it but it won't be my last. Again, I glad I got to meet everyone, that all had a safe drive to and from the event and the next time, no matter where we decide to have it, lets make it an even bigger and better event. For those who couldn't make it, we missed your company and hope that the next time you can make it to grace us with your presence. Again, thanks to everyone for the hospitality and new found friendship! It great to be able to put a face with the usernames, finally. Great photos were taken and hope most of them can be posted in time. Everyone's Element looked great, whether it had extensive mods or none. That's what makes this such a great vehilce. It's what you make it and it's personality is you. Still I wish I had gotten the ABP! ;-)

I know what you're saying. They looked pretty good yesterday but they had two injuries that hurt 'em. Doss is out the remainder of the season with the ACL. It came with minutes left in the game and Montae is Reagor is out as well due to his auto accident while enroute to the game on Sunday. Looks like he'll miss this weekend in Denver. Still, the blue is nice and my wife keeps commenting on it. I wish she was as complimentary on the Webastos sunroof. I'm going to try and get her to go with me to look over the SC. If it had some All Wheel Drive I'd consider it but here in Indy or Indiana, I like having my wheels being able to traverse over the river and through the woods in case to grandma's house we go. ;-)

RiverRat, you should have been on the road heading to Indy for your first meet and road trip. Man! It would have been nice to have had one more person and Element at the gathering. You're right, we did have a great time. It's really amazing how people look at the Element when several are traveling together. Anyway, we hope to do an annual Mini-Meet. Not sure where it will be but those who are interested and those willing to put in the time to coordinate it will have preference I'm sure. Special Props to DancetilUDrop for putting this one together. Since we have our own region on the EOC, we should be able to post info to the states within our region periodically to see if those states have interest. Again, I think a good time for another one next year would be in May for the Indy 500, or in August during the Brickyard 400. My thinking is having another event in a city where something is going on, would give additional recreation for travelers. If no one has interest in the race track events, another suggestion is doing like we did this past weekend by going to Mounds State Park and taking a hike. I'd like to throw out there a trip to Marango Cave. It's in Indiana but near Louisville, KY. It's an awesome cave to go into and I know my wife wouldn't be wearing her 3" heals on that trip. She and I did the cave a few years back and she liked to go back. It's awesome and they have plenty of parking. We could pick a date that's good for everyone, meet there at a certain time, hit the trail into the cave, bring our own lunch or find a place to eat and enjoy. Another idea is meeting at a theme park like Kings Island, Holiday World, Cedar Point etc..... A gathering doesn't have to have to someone living there to put it together. We collectively can put together a time, place and if someone has been there or lives close, we can go from there. Just something to think about.

RiverRat, start planning or thinking about it.

bofus, are you able to go caving in Mammoth, i.e., go through the part of the cave not open to the public?

There are special spelunking "tours" where one can get on one's hands and knees and explore but the tour is still guided. We have lots of caves in our area (>300 miles). There are ~7 major caves sites within 35 miles.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! I love my new E and the "cool" folks on the EOC forum! I really appreciate the feedback on the features and possible modifications. I am waiting for the arrival of splash guards and South Coast carpeting. I want to purchase fog lights and side steps. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

chozn4service
11-14-2006, 05:12 PM
RiverRat, the OEM fogs are nice but if you want to save money, you could do an aftermarket like the CyberWhites from Walmart. As far as side steps? Everyone makes something that will work. It just depends on color. All OEM are gray and some aftermarkets come in black which is nice! So many decisions. I have the OEM on everything and I've yet to have a problem and I don't fore see any. I I were you, I'd look in the gallery and see what others have and if it's something that you like, PM that person and see what brand it is and go from there.

I see you're right on the boarder to to Cincy off of I-74. We usually make it that way on our yearly run to Kings Island and Riverfest, though we didn' make it this year do to family reasons. Anyway, you're a hop, skip and jump from the new Honda plant there in Greensburg, IN. Hope you enjoy the Element and holler if ya need anything. Also, we all may be doing another gathering this Spring somewhere around the Indy 500 time. Dom.Five will be here as last year and we're trying to get a bigger group to invade the Broad Ripple Brew pub. Keep it in mind.

PEace!
