Just thought I would share some pictures of leaves on the Blue Ridge Parkway with everyone. Of course, I have to include a picture or two of my E! :)

OK I got a question.I notice that you blacked out your license plate. I notice also that its becoming very common to black them out in almost all pics used on line. WHY? Whats the danger?

Good question. I had to resize the pics from the original size, and while "I was there" I went ahead and blurred the plate. Maybe it's a tad over the top, but it's just one of those things I started doing a few years back. Call me paranoid, but I just feel better not plastering it on the web. I can't give you any better reason than that. :-|

I work just down the road in Bessemer City! Have friends in Cherryville - it's a nice small town. I can understand being homesick, I've lived all over this great country, but there's nothing quite like NC. Go ahead, call me a hick, I don't care :x - heck fire, I'm proud of it!

That is one road I will never go on again. My husband and I drove part of it a few years ago. He was gripping the steering wheel so tight his knuckles were white and I was poppin antacids. We couldn't get off that road fast enough. We like driving on 441 between Cherokee and Gatlinburg and some of the lower roads in SC. 441 is wide and there are railings. The Blue Ridge has got serious "sheer cliff" issues. I'm glad you enjoy driving it. Someone should.

 Sorry, but I couldn't help it. I learned to drive in the Finger Lakes of Upstate New York where you couldn't see around the corner but the speed limit was 55. It takes some getting used to, no doubt, but I truly miss it. You truly have to drive on those roads... it's not at all like being on the flat stuff here in SE VA. Ex: driving Rt. 64 to Richmond is 2 hours of boring!

Did you drive over the Lynn Cove Viaduct at Grandfather Mountain???

Its a hoot!

Also, the lodge at Skyland is a great place to let the kiddies and dogs play.

Wow, beautiful pictures! I love the Blue Ridge Parkway! It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. My dad took my little brother and I on it a couple years ago in his Mazda RX8. He would find the scariest, most thrilling sections, go back and forth a few times getting a feel for it and noting any dangers, and then fly through well above the posted speed limit. Possibly the scariest thing ever, but he's done it many times in many different cars, so I felt semi-safe... He even let me drive for a little while. Sooo fun!
