Has anyone installed hydraulics to prop up the front hood like you find on the rear? Can someone tell me how they did it (with pics if you can!)

You know those hydraulic props can wear out and I believe they are fairly expensive.....it's up to you but I wouldn't do it.

I don't understand why props on the front hoos would wear out any faster than the rear ones. I would imagine that the hoods weight is similar, and I will probably have the hood open less than the rear...

Has anyone seen an explanation of how to do this to another vehicle and maybe I can be the first to slap these on my E.

BTW, not to toot my own horn, but I installed today:
-interior mats
-cargo mat
-rear bumper trim
-keyless entry
-security system
-stainless steel mesh condenser grill

all told, about 6-7 hours including time spent going to Home Depot for more wire ties...

...but I'm not tooting...
