I was just curious as to the difference in systems in a 2004 LX and EX. Basically will I notice a huge thing or not?

I believe the '04 differences are speakers...6 and a sub in the EX vs. 4 in the LX (LX lacks pillar tweeters and a sub). I'm not sure about the CD player in the '04...whether it plays MP3 CDs or not. I'm pretty sure none of the '04s are XM-ready. The LX is also lacking the AUX input.

You are right - no mp3 capabilities on either deck. :)

The EX deck is also non-powered. All the amplification is in the external amp - 4 main speakers and sub. The LX deck has its power built in and is a single DIN sized piece. The EX deck is a double DIN.

If you want to look on the positive side the lx stereo has an extra din compartment below. Extra storage never hurt anyone.
