Time for snow tires for my E. I've read up on here and heard quite a bit about Nokian Haakapiliita (sp?) but nothing about the Nokian Nordman. I went to my local tire shop and the spoke to the manager. He recommended I buy the Nordman 2.
Anyone have information or comments on this particular tire? He has quoted me $89/ea.
Thanks

I believe the Nordman actually have replaced the Hakkapelitta's.But i may be totally wrong.Nokians are fantastic in the snow.I had the Hakka's on my 98 CRV and they almost dared you to try and get stuck in the snow. They are a little louder and rougher ride than the Michelins but nonetheless good snow tires.

We gave me quote for the Hakkapeliita also, so I'm not sure if the Nordman is a replacement for that ....I told him that I wanted the best tires for my situation (type of winter weather and the amount I'll be driving).

My wife and I just got back from Ottawa and we drove through Vermont and stayed in Montpelier, wow you really need snow tires with the hills you have to drive on. That's a good price for the Nordman but I though they were made for smaller vehicle than the E. Any Nokian winter will do a good job, the Akka SUV is around 128.00 in Bangor Maine.

I had the Nordman 2 tires put on my E on Friday and wouldn't you know that it's be 50 degrees or higher every day since. They said it'll get up to 60 this week. I live in Vermont, not Florida!!!!! I want snow and I want it NOW!!!
They sure are NOISY!!!!

I'm using Nokian WR-SUVs, the all-season tires, on my E. I was afraid that I'd really want some snow tires, or at least studs, since I go up to the mountains a lot here in Oregon.
I had no trouble at all in 1.5 feet of snow up on Bachelor yesterday, however. I think the Nordmans might be overkill, at least in this area.

I had an accident last winter so overkill is ok with me. I'd rather be over-prepared than under-prepared.
I'll be driving to the mountains to ride every weekend and the roads can get gnarly.
