That looks a lot like the Toyota RSC/RSC Rally Raid car in Gran Tourismo 4, which I assume was based on a real vehicle as everything else in the game is. Interesting to see a picture of a real one though. It's a fantastic road-rally vehicle in the game. And even though I know that every vehicle in the game is based in reality, I didn't think I'd ever see a picture of a real one. Very cool. :D

EDIT: Doing a quick Google search confirms that the RSC is an actual vehicle, the "Rally Sport Coupe" for Toyota. Very cool vehicle.

Designers are trying too hard to give their cars faces, IMO.

I doubt it.
Unless all of these are 'shopped photos also.
Bobman is right, it's Toyota's RSC "Rugged Sport Coupe" unveiled in 2001.

Thanks for info. I saw this concept and first thought that the Isuzu VX was coming back, but then saw that Toyota made this. Definitely influenced by the VX.

Any word on whether Toyota is going to production with this concept?

More ornamentation than a Victorian mansion. Not my style at all.

The inside looks like it is from a different car, it's so plain. What a mish-mash.

Its basic shape has a tendency to look a little like a Porsche 928...just a little more jagged and angular around the edges.

Designers really aren't making cars look like they have faces...but seeing faces in objects is often called Pareidolia. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia)

Yeah, it's got a "face" alright - one off a catfish...and the butt off a plucked chicken. Holy crapmobile - it looks like it was designed by a committee of 12 year olds. It doesn't look like anything - well anything good anyway. What is with the trend of making cars look like they were designed by somebody with a hatchet - after they cobbled together pieces from various cars, trucks and tanks. And why would they all look better in a cartoon? I keep imagining I am seeing story boards for Johnny Quest 2007 - and Bandit should be hanging out of the window.

So far the Toyota FJ, and the Dodge Nitro both are going for this quasi cartoon tank look with sharp angles and oversized accents. I guess car design is now, a- la Picasso, in it's "cubist" phase.

Being an Isuzu believer, I would say that it would definately be inspired by the Vehicross.
I loved that truck, and would definately be looking into something like that...

You got that right, but if I caught that "fish" I'd have to kill it.

I think it looks cool.
A lot of people think a Woody - E would look cool.
Personally, I think it looks bug ugly.
To each his own, I guess.
