Hello all, I have a '05 5SP Element having this squeak problem. It gets really bad when it rains. :-(
I have read other postings and downloaded the TSB to take to the dealer, but they have told me that the TSB (dated March '04) is for '04 models only and does not apply.
Does anyone have the updated version of TSB#02-002 (Dated January 11 2005)?
Thanks before hand!

I get that squeek also. Kind of anoying. I've got bigger sound problems in trying to deal with (the famouse front squeeking strut...).
I have an '03 so if any one has some info that could help us out... please do!

I had a squeaking in my clutch and when I reported it to Honda they repaired it under my extended warranty. This was at just about 60K miles.
If you'd like, let me know and I'll see if I can find the service record to find out exactly which parts were replaced.

here's a link:

I had a clutch squeak on depressing the pedal on my '04 ex 5sp that over several months gradually turned into a clicking sound when the pedal was released. Honda service tried lubing the linkage under the dash during one visit, but that had no affect--they determined I needed a rear strut at this time that they needed to order. On the next visit when they replaced the strut, they also replaced the clutch pedal assembly, but that also had no affect on the clicking sound. I showed the service people a copy of the TSB (my Element was also out of the VIN range covered by this TSB) and they said they would call the main Honda Tech and get back to me. When they called me back they said Honda Tech told them to lube the push rod for the slave cylinder. I brought it back in again, and this time spoke to the service manager who happened to be sitting with the district manager. They said they would take care of it. Honda Tech, who they said they spoke with, said to switch out the pedal assembly that they had installed on the previous visit and put it into another Element to see if it caused the same clicking sound. It didn't, and Tech told them to go ahead and put in a new clutch master cylinder. They did, bled the system, and this did the trick, no more the noise and now a smoothly, soundlessly functioning clutch pedal. It took three trips to the service department, but they couldn't have been nicer, and they said they had to go through this procedure for warranty coverage. Good luck with yours.

Thats funny- My '03 civic SI does the same thing. I took it in several times and they were never able to fix it. They ended up saying that its a "civic thing." I guess this could be a "Honda thing."

Had my clutch master cylinder replaced for free today under this TSB. My E is an '04 with over 40,000 miles on it.
Skottie, your Civic may be covered in the TSB too. It covered a lot of models and a lot of years.
