: 235/70/16 Yokohama Geolandar A T/S. I am going to install them.
harrysmith500 11-22-2006, 02:35 PM Well, here i go. After much reading and consideration. I am going to install the Yokohama Geolandar A T/S in a 235/70/16 on my element. If I absolutely should not do this please email me. harrysmith500@gmail.com
I get them at $100, I am a dealer so if anyone is in the (salt lake city) Utah area and if interested please email me.
PS Any peple who know what the MPH effect is please post. thanks.
Rocket Dog 11-22-2006, 02:54 PM I hear Goodyear Fortezas (sp?) are really nice. The tread pattern looks great, optimized (I think) for rain.
Mark C 11-22-2006, 05:07 PM My wife really likes the Geolanders. We installed the stock size on ours. The stock size was $86 from Discount Tire Co, locally.
I have the Goodyear Forteras on my Dodge Truck, and I do NOT like them.
ApriliaGuy 11-22-2006, 07:29 PM I was seriously considering the AT/S in 235/70 before getting my 225/70 Cooper ATRs.
The Yoko AT/S tire impressed me very much....plenty aggressive but designed for good ride, handling, and wear. I decided against them because I was a bit concerned about rubbing w/ the 235 size. (They weren't available 225/70)
I knew the 225/70s would be fine, but I've read that some 235/70s (in more aggresive models) rubbed slightly.
The 225/70 Cooper ATRs fill the wheel well plenty good and don't seem to affect either fuel milage, acceleration/braking performance, or spedometer readings (maybe 1-2mph low after 70mph per my GPS)
Go for it....don't forget to report your findings! Good luck.

harrysmith500 11-27-2006, 06:08 PM well i did it. it looks GREAT and rides better than any other tire as well. The A T/S's have a 500 tread wear rating and are just amazing tires. no rubbing and the things look bold. more pics to come when the sun shines in bountiful.
ApriliaGuy 11-27-2006, 06:30 PM Glad to hear they fit well....looking forward to seeing pics!

Farther 02-04-2007, 11:22 AM Can you post your impressions after driving for awhile on the 235s?
harrysmith500 02-25-2007, 02:10 PM The wider tire made a minimal difference in driving in snow. The noise is a little bit louder, but with the radio even slightly turned up you can't hear a thing. The looks alone are worth going with the bigger tire. I would'nt ever go back to anything smaller. I am a 235'er for life. I couldn't be more happy with the tire I have chosen. Hope this helps.
jpeaslee 03-01-2007, 07:19 PM I've got the fortera Silent Armor on my E and its a great improvement.
Dom.five 03-02-2007, 07:00 AM I've got the fortera Silent Armor on my E and its a great improvement.
I also had the Silent Armors on for about 2 hours. They rode so hard I had them swapped for triple treads. The Triple treads are Noisy, and ride hard! Not as hard as the Silent Armors . But the traction is good.

Atomic E 03-02-2007, 03:05 PM I just put a set of Geolandar HT/S on my E & Love em!
Twilightzero 03-08-2007, 10:16 AM I've been running Geolandar HT/S on 2 E's now (same tires/rims, didn't want the stock **** that came with my new one). Best all-around tires I've driven on, no question!
Also had a set of BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A's on my previous E...that only lasted about 100 miles as I couldn't even get traction in rain, let alone snow/ice (which is a big issue in MN...)

I guess there is some variation in either Elements or tires. See this thread (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38744)for fitmit issues.

ep_404349 12-10-2007, 02:36 AM wow this is so useful to me... i go snowboarding and this is my first season that i am using my E... so i am researching on tires to get for my E so that i would not have any problems... :)
vandstra 12-13-2007, 05:07 PM I said goodbye to the Goodyears today and had a set of Geolanders installed. The Wranglers had less than 20k on them but I was tired of the road noise and the rough ride. Also, it rained today and I spun the tires with moderate acceleration from a dead stop. I have not had the Geos on the highway yet but I can already tell that the ride is quieter and smoother. I have read some positive things about them so if all goes well I will have them put on my wife's E as well.

I'm running the Geo H/Ts G051 (I believe) and I love them to death. Great traction no matter what the weather, pretty damn good wear so far, and relatively quiet. Let us know how the further testing goes!
