I got 2 new keys cut and programmed b/c I orig only got the valet key with the car, so now I have 2 main keys and 1 valet. I have an alarm and no clicker for the alarm the car came with. Will the alarm respond to the new keys? Before I was able to flip an alarm switch under the dash and turn the key part way but not fully to disarm the alarm. Now that I have new keys cut, if I reactivate the alarm, will it recognize the new programmed keys?

Sounds like your Element has an aftermarket alarm installed in it. I don't know if any Honda alarm having a little toggle switch that is used to deactivate the alarm.
My suggestion would be to go into a Stereo store and ask them to remove the alarm and get the Element back to factory, or ask them to see what is there and possibly get you a properly working remote for the alarm currently in the Element. Whatever you decide to do it will cost you at least $50 for them to take a look and as much as a few hundred to have a new alarm installed.
Good luck and let us know what you do.
Thanks. I think it's after market, also. Would you know if I could remove the brain of the alarm (so to speak) and replace it with a new piece so that I don't have to get an entire new alarm. I don't even think I want an alarm- just a extra noise in my part of the woods (NYC). What I want is the keyless that the alarm should provide- I'm assuming. I may just end up removing it all and installing the H & A factory keyless, especially since I could do that myself.8-)

If you check out the installation instructions for the factory alarm I think you will find it to be mostly a 'plug-and-play' unit ( other then the off-center LED and glass mike ).
