: My new Dual Magnaflow Exhaust (New Video/Audio inside)
ElementOn18s 07-12-2003, 08:35 PM Hey guys. Just thought I would show you my newest mod. I have a custom bent and installed dual magnaflow catback exhaust. It makes the car sound tough, looks good, and you can feel a increase in power. It really makes my E stand out. In like a week I will be installing my sound system, and in about a month or two I will be painting the entire car, including the panels, black in the front with red streaks that get fuller toward the back. here are some pictures

fweem 07-12-2003, 09:08 PM I am intrigued by the paint scheme you intend to use as stated in the above post. Please show it off when the job is done.
Thanks.
Fweem on.
isketerol 07-12-2003, 10:44 PM Very interesting exhaust system. Good pics of it as well.
HEMan 07-12-2003, 10:52 PM Just wondering how much the dual exhausts cost. Did you do the work yourself or have it done?? Looks fantastic and probably sounds even better.
ElementOn18s 07-13-2003, 03:59 AM Parts and labor out the door was $460...the regular was 600 but he said hes never done an Element before and if he could put a pic of it on his store wall then he'll do it for 460, so I took it. I love it, and it wasn't that bad of a price, considering on my last car, a GTI, I paid 650 for a production exhaust, not custom like this one, that had to be special ordered from germany. I am very pleased, and it sounds like a very very nice bulldog :-)

Thanks, I am about to take a video of it right now so you all can hear it!
ElementOn18s 07-13-2003, 10:59 PM Hey everyone. With GREAT thanks to the member, inspiron, he has given me webspace with no bandwith so you all can download the video and hear it. I had to move while I shot it because you can only rev to 4k rpms when the clutch is in or its in neutral, I have no idea why. I was only able to bring it up to about 5,200 rpms before I hit my wall, so I couldn't get it fully open throttle, but you still get the gist of it.

P.S. I put the intro in cause I was bored out of my mind, deal with it! If you dont like it, there is fast forward, and geez, its only 5 seconds!
Here is the video...

ERider 07-14-2003, 10:23 AM What a great looking exhaust system. I WANT IT!
Even though I added the Honda exhaust tip I'm not nuts about it. I really don't like the way it just hangs there. I'm looking for other options that will add to the stle not detract from it as the stock setup does.
Do you have any pictures of the underside showing how they ran the tubing???
qsilver074 07-14-2003, 03:08 PM I just want to ask, what is the deal with dual exhausts on an inline four?
Dual exhausts on a non-V engine is pretty ricey, IMO.
Eazy E 07-14-2003, 04:37 PM How does the trailer hitch work with your set up? EE

Lol your a real smart one. Is the s2k ricey, because it is an inline with dual outlets. What about an Audi TT, cause that is an inline 4 too and guess what, it has dual outlets also. And finally the brand new TSX, because that has dual outlets, it is an inline, NON V engine, is that brand new luxury sedan from acura ricey? So according to your genious about automobiles, the s2k, the audi, and the acura tsx are all ricey. Think before you talk, or should I say, criticize, because while trying to sound smart and arrogant by making my interesting E look bad, you make yourself look like an *******, better yet, a uninformed *******. Thanks.
ElementOn18s 07-14-2003, 07:23 PM Here is the underbody. I got the best pics I could, ask if you have any questions and I will try to clarify. Thanks.

I don't know how the trailer hitch will work, I am not planning on using it! lol but look at the pics and decide for yourself.
I just want to ask, what is the deal with dual exhausts on an inline four?
From my experience, it helps reduce the "Buzz" sound you get with single exhausts on full throttle, and helps emphasize the low rumble in idle.

First of all, don't question my intelligence and my being informed because I said something was ricey. And yes, you obviously follow logic well enough. Yes, any - any - inline engine with dual outlets shouldn't have them IMO. Including the S2000, TSX, TT, etc etc. It's pointless. I'm not trying to sound arrogant or smart. I'm giving you an opinion, and if you can't accept it without flaming that's your own fault. The whole point of the dual exhaust was for V-series engines having two seperate exhaust tracts. It was an opinion, and yes I know what cars come with them stock, and I don't like it. It's no better than the ricer with an Integra (no offense integra people) that goes and sticks on TWO APEXi N1's because he thinks he's the **** with dual exhaust, when he doesn't even need it.
Who's looking like the idiot now? Maybe you should chill out. Some people aren't going to like what you do to your E. What do you do? Accept it as someone else's opinion and move on.
Gojira 07-19-2003, 12:00 AM First of all, don't question my intelligence and my being informed because I said something was ricey.
As a former owner of a BMW M-Roadster, I'm going to call bull**** here. The M has an in-line six-cylindar engine, and a dual exhaust. If you're calling a M Roadster or an M-3 rice, then you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Just because an engine is in-line as opposed to a V does not exclude it from having a dual exhaust. No matter how you might wish it so.
Who's looking like the idiot now? Maybe you should chill out. Some people aren't going to like what you do to your E. What do you do? Accept it as someone else's opinion and move on.
You know, I wouldn't be throwing stones here, living in a glass house and all...
I just traded a corvette C-5 for my E, so there's no way anyone can call bias on me :P
qsilver074 07-20-2003, 12:13 AM There isn't any point. Yes, and if you follow my other theory, even on an M roadster it's stupid. I think all of you should stop being *******s when you see someone with an opinion other than yours.

Well, since your theory is WRONG I won't even consider it. Very simply, you know just enough about how engines and exhaust work to make yourself look like you know nothing at all.
Keep up the name calling, kid. No one will ever consider your posts as useful if you do that.
Seems like you're the one who's getting his back up when he gets called on being wrong.
MiamiElement 07-20-2003, 06:14 AM Well, I just think it looks cool as hell. I'd love to do that, and put sidesteps on my E. Think those 2 things would complement the look greatly.
Have you noticed any improvement in your engines preformance?
SnwboarderX 07-21-2003, 04:11 AM What about back pressure? All 4 bangers require a certain level of back pressure and with out it you lose horsepower. This can be done by putting too large of pipe on or by putting a real duel exhaust on a 4 banger. What is your reply to that?
BarryG 07-21-2003, 03:22 PM I for one hate the way modded exhausts sound on 4 cylinders. Let's accentuate that buzzy lawnmower sound! It's so mean! qsilver074 has a right to his opinion as does everyone else. I don't think he should be bashed b/c he thinks duals on an E looks ricey. To some it does.
I've owned 2 Mustang 5.0s and 1 LS1 Z28. All of them were lightly modded with aftermarket exhausts among other things. The Z28 had 2 chrome tailpipes that really made it look good compared to its almost invisible stock exhaust. My V8's were all modified b/c the less restrictive flowmaster and MAC exhausts brought out the REAL sounds of the mean V-8s under the hood. That V8 rumble in it's true form was what I loved. So the exhaust looked good and served a purpose.
While the E I guess looks interesting[\\i] with the dual exhaust, it also in my opinion seems to generate the question.....what's the point? For the E, it does look a little silly. I mean you have a 160hp 4cyl under the hood. What's the dual exhaust gonna do? Expose the true sound of that beastly 4 banger? Make everyone think you got a bad ass ride (when you don't)? It's not going to give you any performance gains or any you'll be able to feel. The S2000 and TT are at least sport coupes so the dual exhaust looks in place. V-8 pickups also look kinda cool with dual exhaust and can sound mean as well. But on the the E looks like it's trying too hard. I wouldn't go so far as to call it ricey just sort of silly. The words Magna Flow dual exhaust and Honda Element just don't sound right together to me. To me it's kind of like showing off something that you don't have....sort of like a padded bra.
It's cool if you like it and are comfortable with it. Many will like your mod but you may also get some laughs as well.
pharaohxiii 07-22-2003, 11:26 PM Sweet looking MagnaFlow Dual Exhaust System! I recently hooked up my H3 with a MagnaFlow Dual Exhaust System as well. You can check it out @
http://members.cardomain.com/pharaohxiii . Let me know what you think?
ElementOn18s 07-22-2003, 11:29 PM very nice dude...i love it! you got any vid clips or sound clips? i wanna hear that and compare it to mine
pharaohxiii 07-22-2003, 11:59 PM Sorry dude :? I'm not that technically gifted at this point. Who knows, I might be cruisin' down to Southern Cali soon...you can hear it for yourself. 8)
meanelvis 07-23-2003, 01:41 PM i think the studio E's dual exhausts look amazing, and if that type of mod is available, i will jump right on and do it. I do think the single pipe exhaust looks silly and a bit cheap.

pharaohxiii 07-23-2003, 02:39 PM The "Studio E" Dual Exhaust is sweet...there's no doubt. But I wouldn't be able to install a Hidden Hitch with that style exhaust system. I was orginally going to do something similar to the Studio E or the Porsche Boxster. But again, I need the Hidden Hitch for my Jet Ski, Bike Rack, etc.

Abstract reasoning; speculation.
Considering my theory is just my own PERSONAL speculation, it may not be correct in your opinion. And name calling? May I scream hypocrisy at this point? You're the one saying I don't know s--t about engines and exhausts, and I'm looking stupid.

An opinion, just like his. If this forum is going to bash me whenever I make a negative opinion, then this forum is ****ed, and that's all there is to it. Sorry that I may carry a minority opinion, but this is a US forum, but I am entitled to carry - and express - my own opinion. If you don't like it, you don't retaliate by calling someone else stupid. Do you call everyone that hates your Element an ignorant *******? Like I said, hypocrisy on your part - YOU are name calling here.
I can't believe one opinion has caused so much controversy. Consider me a revolutionary, then.
But here, in case you don't understand, I'll make some Cliffs' Notes:
I still think dual exhausts on an inline engine look stupid and even more so, rice on a car that comes stock with a single outlet. I get bashed because I think this, and therefore decide simply to defend myself against a bunch of people getting mad and calling me a dumb****. It goes on, ad infinitum.
zozohead 07-26-2003, 10:10 AM Arguing on the internet is like running a race in the special olympics. You may win, but you're still retarded.
I for one wish y'all would take this adolescent crap off-line. Maybe then you could decide who's dad could beat up the other. Or more appropriately, if Mighty Mouse or Superman would win if they fought each other.
Somebody call the wambulance. waaa-waaa-waaaa-waaaa

pharaohxiii 07-26-2003, 04:28 PM Amen to that!!! Have we all forgotten what our Mother's used to tell us?
"If you ain't got nuthin' nice to type...then don't get into the hype!"
Nope, that's not it. I think it was.....
"If you don't have any thing nice to say, then shut the .................!".
I don't think that was it either. Maybe it was.....
"If you don't have any thing nice to say, then don't say any thing at all."
SO LET IT BE WRITTEN! SO LET IT BE DONE!!!
FlipFx 09-09-2003, 05:18 AM Dont know much about car engines/exhaust/intake etc..... Im more into sound and looks!! (BTW Yours has all of the above) Just have a question. :?: Do you notice any performance differences with the exhaust? Horsepower? Torque?
