Just doing a 40K km (24K mile) service, so I got replacement cabin pollen filters from my dealer. They (there are 2 of 'em) each consist of a piece of pleated paper. For all the world they look like a sheet of folded copier paper, with another piece glued on to keep it rigid. But they each cost the same as the engine air filter!
If a two-cent piece of paper folded up in a plastic baggie is worth nearly $20 plus tax, I'm going into the origami business...
BTW, the cabin filters take about 4 minutes to replace, IMHO virtually anybody who can tie their own shoes can do this one.
