My in-laws already have the Dog Watch perimeter set up for their Dalmation and Doberman. I want to add a collar for my dog (she's a Min Pin) when I go over to their house.
I'm not afraid of other animals coming in, it's just that she likes to run across the street to another house when she hears a dog barking in that neighbor's house.
Does anyone know how much a collar costs? I've searched everywhere and all the vendors use the same lanuage..."the cost of this system is less than paying for a fenced perimeter!"
I just need a good idea of how much a collar for a 9-pound dog costs.

We use dogwatch for our Lab and it works great !! :)
Our local company is Stateline; Laurie is our trainer/rep and she always does wonderful things . . .

A second collar runs $249.00 (doesn't matter which size - your MinPin would be a R7 ) and she charges an extra $75 to set the flags and run the new dog through a training period if you don't want to do it yourself.
Good luck !
$249.00 is an inexpensive price to pay when it comes to a dog's life . . . IMHO
Thanks for the info, Box4Rox!
Yeah, my wife and I were thinking about $200-ish, so that's not far off. My bro-in-law trained his Doberman on his own and everything went fine.
We'll probably end up doing that, too.
I read somewhere that the R7 battery lasts only around 6 months and the R8 collar lasts around 2 years. Is there any truth to that?

The R7 is a smaller collar and uses a smaller battery and it doesn't go much past the 6-9 month mark under normal use . . . The R8 has the bigger, 2 year battery but it is also a pretty big module/collar for a small pup like your Min Pin.

Some collars administer a slight electric shock. My wife says I only have to wear it for another six months if I'm good.
