: My new E!!

Is OEM except for the mudgards, which I think was the cut for the dealer that parted with this vehicle to get it to my dealer. But I probably wanted them anyway.

Have been thinking about this purchase for a couple of years. Replacing an 11-year old Camry with 165,000 mi that has never needed a repair. Hope this vehicle is just as good, will definitely be better for hauling my two crazy Labs around. Have a couple of issues, which I may start as new threads in appropriate forums: 1) thinking about whether to get the 8 yr, 100,000 mile HondaCare EW, and 2) am bugged by a flaw in the finish right behind rear, driver-side door. I'll try to get a pic that shows it to post. IMHO, Honda should not have let this vehicle leave the plant like this. I accepted it because trying to locate an LX AWD AT in a color I liked had been near impossible. Of course dealer said they will fix, but I am very reluctant to have them start grinding factory paint off a brand-new vehicle. In 6-months there will be dings anyway. Opinions?

Congratulations, Big, and welcome to the Club.

Don't see many TM Elements with unpainted panels. Looks nice!

The pros and cons of extended warrantees have been flogged here ad nauseam. Do a quick search and you'll see; no need to start a new thread.

If the dealer is willing to fix the paint flaw for free, why not let them?

I really am excited about this car. I was trying to get a Tango Red one, but the Tangerine grew on me. It was my wife's first choice anyway, and now I love it! I definitely wanted the composite panels which made it tough to find one. The dealers here seem to be loaded with EX and SC models, but very few LX, particularly in 5AT AWD. (The manual would prob have been more fun, but a lot of my driving is in stop & go traffic.)

I like it !!

It's the first I've seen with the unpainted panels!

Welcome to the club!

I think Ramblerdan summed it up nicely!

Hope you have good luck with your new E .

Congrats on the E ! Tangerine Rules ! Even with unpainted panels. Looks cool in either config. Honda's generally don't need an extended warranty, but I would search these forums for more input. Get the dealer to fix that flaw you mentioned. I also had a small scratch right behind the drivers door. They happliy fixed it for me. Can't even tell there was a scratch before.

This is exactly what I want. I am not wedded to the EX extra features and I LOVE how the TM looks with the unpainted panels. I also want AT AWD.

I had an '04 SOP and was very interested in the Tangerine until I layed eyes on the Root Beer Metallic SC. Stole my heart. I just had to buy her!

nice color choice. ive had mine for 6 weeks and 3000 miles and i love it still. i reccomend getting a ebay center console for it as the one thing i didnt think would irritate me that did was the lack of armrests. i bought my console when my E was a week old and its perfect it gives you a little extra storage and i personally think the padding on top of it is more comfortable then the armrests that come with the EX and SC models.

nope dude we arent crazy. its a color you either love or hate and we love it. the same thing can be said about kiwi, which personally im not a fan of but to each his own. i just wish the SC came in tangerine, if it did i might have had to take out a small loan and spring for it over my LX

DUDE, but WHY an LX?? The EXs and SCs have composite panels too, they are just painted. For a few bucks you can get so much more value and get an EX. Resale for an EX has got to be much better too. For me it is a no-brainer any Honda has got to be at least at the EX level! :-I
P.S. I do like the ORANGE color very much too!

Looks great my friend. I love the unpainted panels. Top notch choice. I don't favor extended warranties on most vehicles. But it is a personal preference and you can't put a dollar figure on peace of mind.:)
