: East Coasters to the National Meet

I know this is a bit early, but I'm wondering how many east coasters are heading to Vegas for the National Meet? I'm considering going if I can find some cool friend to drive with me, but I still don't know if I want to drive all that distance by ourselves.... Any type of caravaning along the way??? Or as we drive from state to state do we just keep adding more people along the way like that sunshine lolly pop band... what is that group called???
bh241 02-09-2007, 07:31 AM I would love to, but it's just not practical for us to take that much time off. Besides work, we have the rescue dogs to consider, and our own. I'm going to have to hold off till next year.
I do hope a bunch get together and go, it would be a great trip.

Sunshine lollipop band? Is that the band of do-gooders from the movie "Bubble Boy"? If no, no need to embarrass me any further :???:
BTW, it was a very funny movie.
Dom.five 02-09-2007, 10:41 AM Patty and I are contemplating Driving out. We would like to take in some sights on the way. We are talking about Yellowstone, and other places. We have been to the Grand Canyon so that is not on the list this trip.
It will depend on what the Accommodation's are going to be, In Vegas. We are waiting to find out what the club plans are. There has been no word so far. Only the dates.
It would be nice to have someone to drive with. At this point we can't rule out flying. This thread will be a good place to keep track of those from our side of the country that are going to go.
It's still a bit early for many of the people to make plans.
Keeping our options open .

would love to but I have some things planned this summer so can I come in 2 years.
I'm retiring in 2.4 years....then we can caravan anywhere for as long as we want. I'd love to trip with you guys...

Just a crazy thought here.(WHAT!!!!!! IRV HAS A CRAZY THOUGHT????):)
It is very unlikely we would make the drive. Unlikely as in "IRV wins the lottery".:lol:
BUT....didn't the Mini-Cooper folks do a nationwide caravan a while back? I could see the possibility of joining up to a caravan in Indiana and driving to Iowa or Missouri or something like that....

spdrcr5 02-10-2007, 09:22 PM My original plan was to take 2 weeks off from work and drive out... but with my new job taking 2 weeks off isn't going to work out. :( I'll be flying out a day or two early then coming home Sunday.

There is talk of planning an East Coast Meet for July for anyone who might be interested? Just an idea, Ocean City has been mentioned. Among some other places.

I am heading out to Vegas also Gary. I am leaving Northern Virginia the morning of the 19th and arriving sometime Thursday evening. I was going to hang around Friday and Saturday then bug out early Sunday morning.....
