When on long road trips, I camp out with a thermarest camp mat topped with 3" foam topper and horse blanket, sleeping bags, pillows. Sleep like a baby in my E. I also have a Pioneer sat. radio/CD player with aux. jack, enabling surround sound listening to movies or music on my laptop or a 7" LCD TV. I also have a DJ software program on my laptop so in essence, I could throw down the tailgate and do some serious "spinning" for an outdoor dancefloor when necessary. An Alpine amplifier pumps a 10" Polk audio subwoofer and the receiver powers four 6 1/2" Infinity door speakers and four seperate tweeters for the highs. I've cut cardboard templates for all the windows to ensure complete privacy when inside. During warmer weather I use a DC powered clip fan to keep the air flowing and the cell phone, TV, and laptop are all powered by DC chargers. To keep the overall power running, I invested in a $100 battery jump starter, which works every time. I love my Element!

So, you call that camping?!? Thats more like a nice hotel, except cheaper:D

I have a question. When you say you use a battery jump starter, is that to start the car after the battery has been discharged by the appliances, or can you actually run the appliances off the jump starter directly? I am keen to know as I often sleep in my car, but never want to leave anything running over night like a small fan heater in case the battery is flat in the morning. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.
