: My 04 E with new face lift
chih15 02-17-2007, 12:33 PM One thing I like about 07 CR-V is the chrome grill. The 07 Element grill is just too complicate and too expensive to change for my 04. Just bought two chrome plates with double side sticker at a local auto store and just glue it on. New look for an old car.
liteyouup 02-17-2007, 01:45 PM Take that Si grille off of there, NOW. You're a ricer dude.
chih15 02-17-2007, 01:55 PM Interior with odyssey console
Blank 02-17-2007, 02:25 PM Kinda over doing the emblems a little bit? :)
lizzurd 02-17-2007, 02:30 PM Kinda over doing the emblems a little bit? :)
A new EOC record for most emblems that are off of other cars on one E perhaps?
liteyouup 02-17-2007, 02:55 PM I'm not talking about the emblem, i'm talkling about the whole grille. It looks like **** bro.
lwclancers 02-17-2007, 03:12 PM Hey guys, at least he took the Mustang pony off of it ;-) (you'd have to look up an old thread to see what I mean)
Hey, do you have a Honda? ;-)
Also, did you ever wire those lights up?
lizzurd 02-17-2007, 03:19 PM [QUOTE=lwclancers]Hey guys, at least he took the Mustang pony off of it ;-) (you'd have to look up an old thread to see what I mean)
You mean the one where you threw up in your mouth?
This is the second time today i had to slap my own hand......BAD BAD Lizzurd
AlumEnt 02-17-2007, 03:37 PM All I can say is wow
I've seen a car on the way home from work twice now, it has over 40 - 50 reflectors all over it. LMAO maybe it's the same person. That mirror on the hood is so scary it should be illegal, eighteen wheeler coming through!
bigdog 02-17-2007, 03:40 PM lw, this should get you to the original SI page.

willengage 02-17-2007, 03:52 PM I like what he's done to the grill; the mod that he originally posted about. As for the emblems, they're not "my cup of tea," but I would think Element owner's would be, as a whole, a little less likely to criticize based on asthetics or conventional wisdom. :|
Anyhow, I'm interested to know how well that "tape" holds up!
liteyouup 02-17-2007, 04:14 PM Dude, I want to be constructive, but I can't say it nicely. The only thing nice on your E is the new mod you posted about.
Joey Sugar 02-17-2007, 04:29 PM ouch!!! it kinda hurts
bluetiger16 02-17-2007, 04:42 PM I know this has been said a dozen times in this thread but, thought it might help to come from a new voice..... I'm going to be blunt. IT LOOKS REALLY BAD.... Really man not to be mean but it really knocks your E down a class in looks.
dparrothead1 02-17-2007, 06:46 PM You don't even want to know what I think!!!!!!!! It looks worse than it did the first time!!!!!!!
Hells Bells. chih15 is happy with his car and proud enough to share the pics with us, his fellow EOCers. Dang he's even sporting a EOC logo on his front plate.
chich15 thank you for sharing your mods. You like it? Great!
Your pal,:)

Element_Tuner 02-17-2007, 06:59 PM yeh & plz get rid of the honda logos on the fog lights, if you dont have them, it's not good to point out what you dont have by placing stickers over them.:|
dparrothead1 02-17-2007, 07:15 PM I've been IRVed in a nice way. Thanks, I like my mod, if not I would not share it. Like my first thread, if I don't care before, I don't care then.
Especially negative commend from someone who don't have a E, who is selling a E, or just pure negative. Mom always said if nothing nice to say, don't say it, so I'll shut up now. That is the poll for, to save some of you from having dirty mouth/hand syndrome. Mental note: don't join any EOC gathering.
Dude, you're the one that asked what everyone thought.....If you don't want to know, then don't ask......One thing I have found true, is that no one around is bashful about expressing their opinion!!!!! BTW, lose the hubcaps and stick with the steelies.......
Beckysdad 02-17-2007, 07:24 PM I think it's great that Chih15 shared his pictures. I love to look at everybody's E. We all agree the E is different from the run of the mill car/suv. We are all sort of making a statement with the E. That is his statement. I am waiting to buy my E in the next couple of months. In fact I test drove a TRP EX AWD yesterday and drooled the whole time.
However, my friends are putting me down like crazy that it is so ugly.
They would all be laughing right now that E owners are calling another E owner's car ugly. :-o
ann54 02-17-2007, 07:33 PM Hey guys, I have to support a fellow Pittsburgher. We are unique-not everyone understands us.:D I like it Chi. I hope I see you around the city.:)
Mental note: don't join any EOC gathering- if people are like this in the internet, can't imagine how they are in person???
Please don't take that attitude. I've been to a few meets and while some EOC members are pretty boring (including me :) ) nobody will give you a hard time about mods. You've obviously taken time to make your E yours and that's all good. :D
ann54 02-17-2007, 07:54 PM chi15, don't leave. There are lots of nice people here who would love to see your mods in person. This is actually a very fun site. Check out some of the other threads like 'As the E Turns' and 'Family Members'. You'll enjoy them.:D

And you'll find out that IRV is not boring.:)
Dom.five 02-17-2007, 08:01 PM Thanks IRV !!
I hate it when people jump all over a fellow E owner.
Lets face it, The E is an excellent platform to do mods on. Everyone has differing Ideas of what looks good, and what does not. Some of the mods I have seen on this site were nothing more than HACK JOBS ! Yet nothing bad about them was posted. This fellow has taken the time and trouble to Mod HIS E, then post photos for all to see. This is what he gets?
Yes, If you ask, You will receive the opinion's of Fellow members. But please state your opinion in a civil manor. Please keep in mind that He is a fellow member of this community.
His mods may not be to your taste or mine, but if they serve him well, thats all that counts.
Nice job chih15, I would not have been that restrained in My posts, if it were me.
Dom
ann54 02-17-2007, 08:34 PM Yeah, stick around for awhile. You can always use the ignore button.:) Seriously, stay with the forum, there are so many nice people on it.
SciJohn 02-17-2007, 08:57 PM Yeah Chih don't let the criticism chase you away.
It would have been a bit nicer to say, "I don't care for all of the emblems but if that's what you like, rock on."
I suspect most of the posters here are much nicer in person. It's just easier to type out a flame than to speak it.
Happy Year of the Pig! :)
ann54 02-17-2007, 09:04 PM Thanks Ann, you are always the nice one. :) They should give you an award of being nice, which is a rear quality in this "club".
Thank you chi, for the compliment. Hey, we should look for each other around the city. I live in Point Breeze and hang around the East End. I'm at the Starbucks on Forbes almost every day. Wave or honk if you see me and I'll do the same.
liteyouup 02-17-2007, 09:08 PM Don't let me kick you outta here, I'm really nobody. I have like ten posts, LOL.
ann54 02-17-2007, 09:14 PM I park my car in a garage and use bus and my legs for daily commute. My car haven't had chance to play with the ice+sand+salt road, because I won't allow it. Which starbucks are you talk about? The one in Oakland? Sorry, Forbes is such a long street that it extends all the way to downtown. I rearly saw a blue Element, if I do, I'll def. wave.:)
The one on Forbes at Shady in Squirrel Hill. You are lucky you can park in your garage. Mine has two motorcycles and assorted junk in it. My E has to sit outside. I finally got to wash it today, I feel much better.
T Mac 02-17-2007, 09:44 PM chi - my take on it is this... as some have said, you asked for opinions and you got them. So, you got good and bad. I just wish those who don't care for it would simply say that and make their point and put it in a more respectful form. Sometimes that doesn't happen but we certainly want you around and hope you stick around and enjoy. Remember, we are all from different areas and backgrounds. We will have differences because there must be (thankfully). It's the E that brings us together...let's all remember that.
Thanks.
Blacksheep 02-17-2007, 10:57 PM The upper grille looks nice, I like the look of that. I'm not as thrilled with the lower but if you like it I say roll on.
lwclancers 02-17-2007, 11:22 PM I know, I guess you can't please everyone. Good memory. Well, if the baby likes the grill that much, I'll sell it to ya for $50 and $15 shipped via USPS.
Tell me how I was being rude/condescending/mean etc.? Sorry for bringing up the old "Si Pony" thread...but to be honest it was so people could see its BETTER now :) That Pony thing was rough, alas the "vomit" comment
I joked about if you had a Honda because from my count you have 16 H or Honda emblems on your E (6 front, 4 each side, 2 on back) ;-)
And I still want to know from my first post, are the lights wired up yet in the grill? I said in the other thread I like the light idea, if they were wired of some sort.
Blank 02-18-2007, 04:40 AM GOOD GOD, MAN! How many emblems do you need!?
Sorry, I wanted to go again.
wankerklink 02-18-2007, 06:25 AM Hells Bells. chih15 is happy with his car and proud enough to share the pics with us, his fellow EOCers. Dang he's even sporting a EOC logo on his front plate.

I totally agree and I like the 2 bars in his upper grill.

Yup, my thoughts too. Different strokes...
If I see you around the 'burgh chih15, I will know it's you.
(I do like the '4WD' badge on the lower corner of the front doors. I had considered that too)
lwclancers 02-18-2007, 08:49 AM I totally agree and I like the 2 bars in his upper grill.Yea, I really like those too...its actually a really good fit. IMHO the rest just really detracts from that.
And this is coming from a guy who likes stickers and emblems ;-)
Hondamade4dogs 02-18-2007, 09:20 AM Wow that is a lot of crap on your car...It reminds me of when i owned a PT Cruiser, and we decorated are cars, some people always went to far and it looked ghetto.
willengage 02-18-2007, 09:54 AM I can't believe how mean-spirited some of these guys are being; people who drive square vehicles… ;-)
Anyway... dude, I like some of your mods and don't really care for others, but some like painted panels, etc. That's pretty much what I chalk it up too. I think most of the people flaming on you need to get a prescription for Prozac and move on with their lives.
My advice to you is ignore the nimrods who falsely believe their idea of beauty is any more valid than yours. Just remember what a wise man once wrote in a thread somewhere:
"Arguing with people on in Internet is like competing in the Special Olympics, even if you win, you're still retarded!"
dparrothead1 02-18-2007, 10:15 AM It still boils down to:
1. Post pics of what you know, from previous threads that you were involved in, are controversial.
2. Ask for everyones opinion.
3. Get offended when people offer their opinion when you know beforehand what is going to be said.
4. IMHO, you were having a slow day and thought you would troll a little and see what you could get started!!!!
It's just so easy to say harsh things when you're removed from seeing the reaction. There will always be those who find it easier to throw darts while invisible. People say things with pixels that they'd never say in person. Sadly that's the reality of all net forums....even this one.
If chih15 made any mistake, it was asking for feedback when he had an "offbeat" look. That's a lesson that he learned the hard way. That doesn't make him a troll. He's obviously proud of his E and he was showing it off. If you don't like it, that's fine, but you can offer criticism without being a sniper.

I wasn't trying to be a "sniper"....all I was saying is he knew what kind of reaction he was going to get because the same things were said when he first posted it back in October of 2006......say what you want, but a troll by any other name is still a troll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that's all I have to say about that!
poppa smurf 02-18-2007, 12:11 PM heck I like the upper grille concept. Kinda gives me some inspiration for some
polished stainless that I have. and maybe some waterjeting?
lwclancers 02-18-2007, 01:02 PM Yes, an Pony Si pic...I told ya it was better now than before. :)
But for the 3rd time, can you let us know if the side blinkers you used in the lower corners are in fact wired up? If so I'd like to see a pic.
FYI: The H/Honda count is now up from 16 to 18...I spotted the H stickers on the back side of each side mirror :)
wingdr 02-18-2007, 01:15 PM The lower grill is a bit much for my taste, but I like the chrome on the top grill.8-) Were did u buy it and did u have to cut or modify it before install? Tim
Element_Tuner 02-18-2007, 08:00 PM yeh i like the mods, but it, in my opinion, is a little clutterd, but individually the logos are really cool! :D so i also want to know where you got them. and does the person/organization you got the logos/stuff from have enything else to sell? im intrested!
