some nice scenery, and dirt roads. the E treated us nicely, and we rode in comfort to Camp Hero.

some people may know the area from before the 80s when it was an active Air Force installation. there are many conspiracy theorists that believe it was a UFO tracking facility. the base was an early warning, and protection site for NYC. Nike missles, and MK-II cannons for anti aircraft and missile defense.

Camp Hero is a great place to walk around, and explore. My son loves that they still warn of unexploded ordinance that may be around. the bunkers are awesome. The "Downtown" Camp Hero area reminds me of a few places that my unit was housed while we were in transit.

the Bluffs are beautiful, and were a great place to have lunch today. we picniced in the grass on one of the Bluff areas. Tennessee came along, and behaved well.

we go back here every year....
