My wife & I took our E on it's first real road trip back on the 4th. We went to Brady, Texas to visit friends and then on to some drizzly shopping in Fredrickberg. And before heading back to Brady, we visited the favorite hangout of "Willie, Waylon, & the boys:"

I have to say, even as nostalgic as visiting Luckenbach was, I sorta expected it to be more than a few metal shacks out in the woods... :?

Still, the E's first real outing was great and it was a fun trip overall. Next weekend... Fort Davis & the McDonald Observatory (the highest point on any Texas highway) and the maiden voyage of our new Tailgate Cabana at the Davis Mountains State Park. Gonna be an excellent weekend for star-gazing!

I've been there before...the day after Willie had his 4th of July party. It was down in a hole if I recall correctly and there was quite the mess after the party and there were people out cleaning up. Cute little town in the Texas Hill Country.
