Hi everyone, I am looking for suggestions. I am going to hardwire my plug and play sat radio soon. I would like some advice on 2 items
good place to tap in for power and inline fuse
I would like to tap into the Aux in line so I don't have a plug hanging out of the dash socket. does anyone know which wires on the head unit are the aux in? I am also planning to put in a switch to keep the dash aux socket alive when needed.

Heres the wiring for the auc jack.......
For your power tap in i would suggest using an add-a-circuit in the fuse box.

I hardwired my ipod when i had my factory ex radio. I did pretty much exactly what Lizzurd just recommended. Tapped into those wires and then did an add a circuit off my radio fuse. Also, if i remember correctly, you'll have to splice the yellow and blue wires together. This is because the head unit automatically detects when something is plugged into the aux jack. If you splice them together then it will think that something is always plugged in, which in your case, it will be.

Here is a good link to an add-a-circuit install.

You can hardwire it to the wiring under the diagram or you can trace the wires from the original aux plug (very hard to get at)...Another thing you can do is wire it to where the outside fuse box connects and run couple relays and use a switch or wire the relay to a ignition hot fuse...Hope this helps...cool

Excellent Point! I would have figured it out eventually, but probably after a few choice words! LOL
By the way, the "add a circuit" I've never had my fuse box opened, does it use the regular size fuses or the minis?

It uses mini fuses.
