I got a dog and i ride with him all the time, he always in the back and i just wonder, how do you guys clean up all those dog hair. i hate it when those hair stock on the seats and all those tiny spot. good thing is that back cargo is plastic not carpet. How do you guys do ?

I ended up putting a grey sheet on the seats for my 2 Springers.

I blow it out with all the doors open with the air compressor. :)

My two cavaliers will probably make a nice mess of mine too. Lint brush and duct tape ftw!

I use a shop vac to suck up the dog hair and 2-inch wide masking tape as a lint brush to get the stuck on hair. I like the air compressor idea.

The only spot I have a problem would be the insides of the front seats. They get full of hair. Instead of vacuuming it, I take a small towel and wet it, wring it out and just wipe the seats. It removes the hair without busting out the vacuum. I wipe out the whole interior with just a damp towel.

I also keep the back seats folded up to minimize the amount of clean up.

Did mine today. Dog never rides in the car but since it was nice outside today.....

Cleaned it out after with the vac and damp towel. Both worked awesome.

At first I used a lint roller. Then I bought a plastic mattress cover.:)

You should patent that one! A LOT less work than a lint brush.

Put a Chihuahua in a car and you will find out just how much these little critters shed. My Chihuahuas shed like crazy. Maybe a Chinese Crested would be better. Then again... I used to show standard poodles. Very little shedding in the poodle model

I have a blanket over the seats when Judah rides with me.... only problem is any loose hair that the wind starts to blow around. I follow up occasionally with the wet sponge, and sometimes with the lint roller, depending on the rush and fur and the like.... When i do the drive through carwash i'll use that time to do some extra cleaning and its no problem to keep up with... Judah is well worth it.

Brushing your dog at least 2-3 times per week cuts down the dog hair mess a lot. Use a brush appropriate for your breed to make sure you get all the dead hair out. You will also love the shiny new coat that eventually grows in once all the dead hair stop blocking the follicles.

If you still have a problem, I highly recommend some of the higher-powered hand vacs. I use the Black & Decker Dust Buster 15.6 v. It doesn't get all those little hairs stuck in the seats, but it gets all the loose flying stuff. Then you get the lint roller and get the harder stuff with that.

Because my E is both a business car and a doggy car, I have to do the vac and roller routine quite often, or I would walk into all my meetings with a business suit coated in fur. It has worked pretty well for me.

what kind of dog do you have?
I grew up with cats so I guess I wanted the catest looking dog... no matter how much i brush her (my chow), she still sheds.... its outta control. but the blanket really helps... i got a little swiffer duster and it works wonders as well... pics up the fir that static electricity wanted...

Easiest way Ive found to get the undercoat and dead hair out is this tool here. http://petsalley.com/strippers.asp A guy in a park actually showed it to me and I cant believe how quick it worked on my cavaliers. I have bought every comb/brush petsmart/petco sold and nothing worked like this tool did.

And no Im not trying to sell a product for someone. For the price/effectiveness this tool is hands down the best to fight shedding.

Oh btw, I love the "Save the TaTas" That is GREAT!

If we're going off on eliminating the shedding before we put the pups in the E, well has anyone used a furminator (http://www.furminator.com/)?

While they are expensive, they are great at removing loose hair, undercoat, and all that.

Great tool, I recommend highly.

That looks alot like the Shed Ender.
http://www.seenontv.com/prod-pages/shed_ender.html

They are great at getting the top coat, but the blades are too close for the undercoat to effectively get brushed from what Ive used it.

i think the worse shedding dogs are spaniels. man they really shed. poodle and bichon and lapso do not shed . they have hair not fur. probably others too.

The worst by far are the medium-short coated breeds--like beagles, labs, etc. OMG is that hair REALLY hard to get off of things. My beagle sheds more than my 4 britts put together. No kiddin, and she is HALF their size.

I use the duct tape as a lint brush. Not to cover the seats lol!

OK, maybe it's just me, but I think I spy your problem...

My question in return would be, have you never owned a car before? If "yes", where have you assumed all the hair went before? Out the window, up your nose, "dog knows where!?" (I'm dyslexic!)

"If a dog sheds hair in the forest and there's nobody there to clean up after it, does it really shed?"
